ORIGINAL: Kull And like several others here, my AE case was cracked - not in pieces, but the top left side has a 2-inch crack running down the side. I'm relatively certain that the crack in the AE case was caused by the manual being slightly smaller than the case itself. When pressure is placed downward on the either side, and there's no place for the other side to go, the manual is pressed INTO the case, and the latter cracks along a seam that's perpendicular to the force. If the manual had been larger than the case, or a piece of cardboard inserted between case and manual, I don't think that the case would have been damaged. I emailed Erik about this already. If nothing else, I wanted Matrix to learn from it. PoE (aka ivanmoe) Good analysis. I think the case is inherently flimsy (walls are too thin), but yes, the fact the manual is placed in such a way that none of it's weight is borne by supporting case walls? Absolutely a major contributor.
