Postal Service tracking, in my experience, is really hit or miss. I've had it say absolutely nothing useful still when I had the package in my hand. That said, send me your Order ID and I'll find out when they actually shipped it out from our warehouse.

Your box is full. LOL Can't Imagine why??

Hi Erik,

Hanzberger sent me his USPS tracking number (definitely Postal Service and not UPS). Here's the message when you log in:

The U.S. Postal Service was electronically notified by the shipper on August 13, 2009 to expect your package for mailing. This does not indicate receipt by the USPS or the actual mailing date. Delivery status information will be provided if / when available. Information, if available, is updated periodically throughout the day. Please check again later.

In fairness, he's 5 days in and that's all he's getting. Sounds like there might be a snafu.

Edit: e-Mailed you his USPS number

I need his Order ID, not his USPS number. I want to confirm that we shipped it out - if the USPS actually has it, I have no influence there.

BTW, my shipment arrived as scheduled today. Manual looks very nice. And like several others here, my AE case was cracked - not in pieces, but the top left side has a 2-inch crack running down the side. A few thoughts:

1) The cardboard package looked pretty clean. No obvious dents or anything to signify "rougher-than-normal" handling

2) The box also contained WPO, and it had no damage.

3) The AE case was situated beneath the manual and atop WPO, so if anything it was more insulated than anything else in the box.

4) In my experience, the case design used for AE is something normally used on .5" thick cases, not one that's .9" thick. Games with large manuals normally come in 1" boxes in which the plastic walls are about twice as thick as the AE's box.

5) The manual itself is fairly heavy (just guessing but it's got to be fairly close to a pound), and putting that weight on top of a thin walled case with no internal support is going to leave the case vulnerable to even a moderate level of shock. There's literally nothing to absorb it.

6) If the game was shipped with the manual inside the case, that probably would have offset the all the negatives. Recommend you institute that as a policy on all future orders.

Mine also arrived at work today. It hadn't been packaged very well, the UK Royal Mail had put it in a plastic bag with writing on it saying they had damaged it. On inspection, the case was fine and the manual was fine apart from some very minor crinkling on the outside. It did travel from the UK to Aus though.

Still waiting and counting...

PS

I'm still waiting for mine as well, and I'm unable to track it so who knows when it will arrive.

Erik, can you help me? I sent a note to the Matrix store and have not received a response. I ordered my but the tracking number is not a valid UPS tracking number.

I ordered it within a day or two of when it was released and it still isn't here yet in Indiana.

Thanks!

I got mine two days ago. Ordered WITP:AE last week, it took less than a week arrive here in Finland. Nice job!

Haven't got time to play much, but I'm reading manual now. So many improvements over old WITP, this really is a new game.

I must say the invoice I received with the physical copy was interesting.  According to invoice the price was $0.00 and the customs declaration quoted the value as $0.01 Australian dollars.  I thought I paid for this game

Also there was several copies of the invoice.

AHH GOOD NEWS I think I may be getting it today~! Of course we are getting slammed with rain so it will probably be soggy. Hey if I didn't have bad luck I wouldn't have any luck at all.

And like several others here, my AE case was cracked - not in pieces, but the top left side has a 2-inch crack running down the side.

I'm relatively certain that the crack in the AE case was caused by the manual being slightly smaller than the case itself. When pressure is placed downward on the either side, and there's no place for the other side to go, the manual is pressed INTO the case, and the latter cracks along a seam that's perpendicular to the force. If the manual had been larger than the case, or a piece of cardboard inserted between case and manual, I don't think that the case would have been damaged. I emailed Erik about this already. If nothing else, I wanted Matrix to learn from it.

Good analysis. I think the case is inherently flimsy (walls are too thin), but yes, the fact the manual is placed in such a way that none of it's weight is borne by supporting case walls? Absolutely a major contributor.

Finally got my game today and it was in great condition. I think its the luck of the draw as far as condition goes. Something heavy lands on it in transit and hence your damage.

Glad to hear it finally made it! Those us with UPS shipments at least had the ability to watch our package move across the country, however slowly. Pretty frustrating for those of you who drew the USPS "short straw" and just knew that it was in transit.....somewhere......

One final comment on this and then I'll let the whole thing go. I've bought several games from another wargame publisher that puts a piece of cardboard between case and manual when they "ship and handle" them. I never knew why, but now I do.

My game is now a 45 minute drive away from my house, but because the Postal guys out here don't deliver mail on sundays, I'm screwed until Monday.

The US Postal Service ONLY delivers Express Mail on Sunday. I don't believe NWS has this option for shipping. And if they did you probably couldn't afford the extra charge, otherwise you would have ordered from Matrix and already have the game in your hands.

Monday is only one more day and your package will arrive and will bring you happiness.
