I noticed that the two original Americal regiments and attached units arrive in Eastern US. Fair enough since thats were TF 6184 originated but there doesnt seem to be any requisite shipping for it. In fact I can't find any AP's in the reinforcement que that arrive in the Eastern US. I am left to assume you need to use that special stategic movment option but that would basically just strand the units at Christobal. I dont feel its reasonable that a player needs to send the precious few APs he has in early 42 to pick up units that historically had their own shipping. So I guess my question is. Why with specific ship withdrawl option that is available in AE are the seven historic APs that made up TF 6184 not in the game at least temporarily? Or maybe I am just missing something? Any feed back is appreciated

Regards

You can rail em across the US to the west coast. Turn on strat move and make SF or where ever the destination. No need per say to ship them.

Kind regards,

Rasmus

What were the names of the APs you refer to?

Strat move the units by rail from Eastern US to a west coast port, and have a few APs (with escorts) waiting for when they arrive.

The Americal TF ( TF6184 ) consisted of

USAT Argentina
USAT Barry
USAT Christobal
USAT Ericsson
USAT McAndrew
USAT Santa Elena
USAT Santa Rosa
USAT Island Mail

All relatively fast transports

Yes, it is interesting that the game gives us those 5 absolutely useless bomber squadrons with 1 Bolo each in the middle of the desert that must be withdrawn by the middle of January 1942 and not this TF.

What's puzzleling is that there is some precedence for it in the game, since the British 18th Division reinforcement appears with most of its TF ships ( Wakefield, Westpoint, Mount Vernon ect...) In old WitP it was tough to put these ships in because historically most were withdrawn from the theater after they delivered their troops but AE's ship withdrawl I dont know why they shouldn't be in.

Unfortunately a "few" APs is all you have in early 42 and the Americal and all its attached units takes more than a few APs to ship.
