the remaining Russian troops (several divisions) are obviously starving and they will starve to death. The will suffer the same faith as the US troops suffered at Manila... they are obviously completely out of supply and as soon as they hit 1200 av I will move out one of my divisions... with my experience of fighting out of supply Chinese (that kick my arse) I wonīt be too self confident in keeping the out of supply Russian honest...

if the Allied commander isnīt coming up with a bright idea how to wreck my airforce then it will really be game over for him. Iīve already got at least as many high experienced daitais around like Iīve had before the epic defeat of the Allied carrier force near the Gilberts. And with all the training Iīve ordered the number is steadily growing. And thereīs nothing else my airforce has to do... Itīs nearly February and with the R&D of the Frank that weīre doing I expect to see this ac in June. If he isnīt able to knock out my IJAAF fighter sentais before that date, then he will have another huge problem. And seriously, I canīt see much he could do to knock them out as I wonīt get into an attrition battle if I donīt need to...

something is going on, we have spotted three TFs going to PM, no idea if this is a resupply, a reinforcemt or evacuation (doubtfully) attempt. No reason to alert my airforce though, there are hundreds of Allied fighters at PM (Corsairs, Spitfires, Thunderbolts...), so it wouldnīt be worth at all to try something.

one of the now seldome 4E strikes up North. The increased activity lately has alerted me to some kind and therefore all my important bases up North received reinforcements. Itīs winter and therefore I donīt fear much in terms of an Allied invasion as winter alone would account for horrendous losses during an amphibious operation but I didnīt want to see spring and my bases not garrissoned like I would like them to have. We also have more than enough aircraft in Japan (something I always have) and also enough ac in nearby (Russian) training airfields. I donīt fear much up North and itīs doubtful if the enemy will really show up. But I guess he was up to something as he completely overstacked Kiska and Attu (until I told him I wouldnīt tolerate this).

the good news of the day: CV Katsuragi arrived today! Another Unryu class carrier that will aid to the might of my carrier force. The daitais will be stripped off the carrier and will be sent to Clark airfield for two months (at least) of training. The daitais arrived with exp below 50 and are therefore not usable... but we donīt need the carrier now anyway, I can field far more operational carriers (with the creme de la creme of IJN aviation in regards of high exp pilots) than the Allied can. Itīs still more or less unbelievable what my opponent all did wrong near the Gilberts. There was just no reason to lose all those capitol ships.

Yesterday I had 150 Tonies on LRCAP in the Gili Gili area to protect this barge convoy. Well, it was more to knock down a dozen of the Aussie Beafighters on nav attack. Unfortunately yesterday all bombers from PM attack the lonely AK at Thursday and none went after my barges. Due to fearing a massed Corsair/Thunderbolt sweep today, Iīve moved out all my Tonies and the barges were helpless... one is lost, I guess we can afford that...

Baker is still on my list of potential Allied targets and itīs one of the few logical targets. But I guess the Allied wonīt do anything that is logical anymore... While itīs a potential target (and the Allied would do well attacking it, as this is one of the ways they should - and could - go), itīs a target of only third class for me. Not even the Gilberts were a high priority target for me and I didnīt want to defend them at all costs. The only reason I sent in KB was the fact that I had a fair chance to inflict "some" damage. Would the evacuation have been done like I would have done it, I wouldnīt have sent in KB nor my LBA...

the only thing that is happening at the moment are those TFs that moved to PM, which have left again. Completely strange were the ships weīve spotted. LCIs, ARs and stuff like that... is this a joke or has the AI taken over control of the Allied forces?

Well, I think we've all been waiting for a game where the IJA has Peggys, Franks, and etc, and the IJN has a KB full of A7M's, D4Ys, and B6Ns, (or maybe B7As depending on game version). When something happens, I'm sure it will be fun.

if I donīt die due to being bored then we sure will see the IJNAF and IJAAF full of advanced figthers and bombers flown by very high experienced pilots. The Peggy is going online sometime around 10/44 (depending on R&D) but I wonīt upgrade all my IJAAF bombers until I have to due to the fact that I canīt use the Peggies on nav search. Why? Because the game has always been broken and level bombers with a default load of a torpedo canīt hit anything with bombs on nav search. And if my opponent will at some point decide to use his subs again, I need the high experienced (bomb equipped) Helens for nav search against Allied subs. And I will use them in mass, just as my opponent did it near Canton, sinking half a dozen subs in two turns (and damaging another half a dozen before I was able to move them out).

Unfortunately, the Reppu wonīt be available until mid 45 and this is still a long way to go. Thatīs the only pity at the moment, we are stuck with the Zeke for our carrier based daitais. High experienced, but they are all flying obsolete aircraft in comparison with the Hellcat, which is the opponent they have to fight. The stats of the Reppu are better than the Hellcatīs, but I guess until then, my opponent will fly Corsairs only on carriers.

Iīm rotating troops in and out to keep them at max combat readiness... if the game wonīt again go completely nuts then we should hold out here forever with the Allied having no chance to advance. Swamp hex (3x multiplier) and level 9 forts and 100% prepped. Ample supply of course. But with the ground combat results we have seen the last 6 months it could well mean that our adjusted av will be halfed (for no reason) and the enemyīs will be doubled (also for no reason). Itīs just the same BS as with all my fighters getting damaged now when they fly 50% Cap.

It just sucks and the only reason for this must be some hardcoded BS I have never heard before...

I am surprised this game is still going, given AE, and the extreme Allied losses.

I have a PBEM in 1945; the advanced types are better, but still die 100s at a time on Uber Cap. It takes 1000 planes and at least 2 days to break an Allied CAP umbrella.

yeah it is going on. And the title has just recently changed to: "waiting for AEīs third patch" as Iīm not happy with AE as it is now. Many things are not how they should be IMO. But thatīs not surprising to me and is not a rant against the devs. Itīs as expected, I also didnīt start a WITP PBEM the first months, I guess I was waiting at least half a year to get into PBEM (due to the game not being what I wanted it to be).

If possible, the only Cap I will engage will be carrier based Cap or LRCAP that is covering (invasion) TFs. I wonīt get myself into an atrittion war against Allied Cap over bases as thereīs no reason for me to do so. Of course there will come the time when I have to put up Cap over my bases and P-38J and P-51s will sweep my bases but I hope to have the Frank available until then. And Iīve got more than a thousand 80+ exp fighter pilots, with radar, decent numbers and the Frank available, such Allied strikes will also result in hundreds of downed first line fighters. One day alone can see two months of Lightning replacements being downed. But of course, I will focus on hurting the Allied Navy, this is what Iīve done in the past and thatīs what Iīm intending to do in future.

The Allied lack two things: carriers and ground units. And without those two things they canīt bring the war into my territory, at least not in a way (at the moment) that I will be drawn into an atrittion airwar. We will see...

Japanese Ships
DD Tsuga
DD Kuri

Japanese ground losses:
176 casualties reported

the game is getting funny again! believe it or not (I couldnīt when I discovered), bigbaba left Perth empty. Completely empty! Iīve used Emilies from Broome to recon Perth because I wanted to know if the Allied are possible building up at Perth to mount an offensive out of this base (either going North via rail - expected - or an amphibious assault against Northern Australia - unexpected). What I discovered was just unbelievable. How on earth can he leave the base completely empty? The consequence was that I put three DDs together and sent parts of a nav guard unit down to take the empty base. The DDs arrived today, destroying some mines and then landing my troops. We will take the base tomorrow. Nice commando raid...

It remains him 1 day to send allied troops to Perth by air transports; strange!!

He must be really short on LCU's... or he's careless.  You should check Sydney and Auckland.

P1Y Frances x 4

Japanese aircraft losses
P1Y Frances: 2 damaged

Allied Ships
LCI LCI-327

Aircraft Attacking:
4 x P1Y Frances launching torpedoes at 200 feet

this game is just getting more and more strange... why? Because my opponent is doing "strange" things. And this is not the first time. Those TFs that were going to PM have been going back and forth in this area without any sense, it seems my opponent wants to lure me into something but that is just lol! Completely lol! Should I think this is an invasion or what? What makes it even more strange is the fact that he moved out all his aircraft from PM and he also is evacuating PM!!!! Tripple LOL!

Can you imagine that? Iīve noticed Dakota losses (ops) and noticed a big drop in the troop number at PM. This made two things absolutely clear to me: a) heīs flying out troops en masse and b) he uses the gamey way to do it. Cooktown has no ac and Cairns already is too far away to use C-47 to pick up troops from PM. Well, I donīt care anymore about anything, this game is going off the cliff anyway. Itīs a stupid tactic to use a bug but itīs even more stupid to evacuate PM. Thatīs just lol.

And there are so many bases on the map where I can see airbalance numbers that are so off, this tells me he violates airfield stacking hrs on and on. Not just by a couple of dozen ac per base (this is something you wonīt see with airbal numbers) but by hundreds ac, mostly doubling the allowed number of ac (this is something you can easily identify with airbal numbers).

Iīve filled up two New Guinean bases with Francesī and set them to nav attack. Only one bases launched a strike but we get some easy kills. This day wonīt be a catastrophic one for the Allied, but throwing away a dozen ships for nothing is just plain stupid (sorry).

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

we launch another strike from Lae in the afternoon, most of my bombers tried to attack already sunk ships. Otherwise there would have been more sunk ships. Guess a dozen AKs destroyed today for the loss of three Francesī and two crews.

Japanese forces CAPTURE Perth base !!!

voilá, my commando raid takes Perth! We capture the base and seize 100.000+ supplies and 12.000 fuel. I would have liked it to be the other way but capturing 100.000+ supplies is nice anyway. The supply is needed for the dozen of divisions I have in the Townsville area. Iīm constantly shipping in ten thousands of supplies but they just wither away in days. The ground war in Australia is really sucking up a lot of supplies, even though we are only exchanging bombardments with the Allieds.

A single base force could have held the base...

Not really, as thereīs not a single base in range of Perth. I only know about the bug that you can pick up troops that are out of range of your transports, but not flying them in.

He must be really short on LCU's... or he's careless.  You should check Sydney and Auckland.

In this case, it can only be his carelessness. A single base force and a rgt would have been easily enough to make the base safe, I wouldnīt have attacked it anyway. But seeing the base empty was just an invitation for me. Iīm still not sure if my opponent thinks Iīm a complete noob, with how the game went the last two years+ should have convinced him about the other way around I guess. Surely Iīm not an uber player but if an opponent offers me a chance to hurt him, I usually do hurt him.

lol, I would have bet my arse off that this attack will go in. But I would have bet it would have looked different. Those bombers must have come from Townsville or Cairns and both bases are too far away to see Lightnings on escort. So again, it was a really nice idea to evacuate PM. Iīve moved in 154 Tonies and see 80 in the air. Depressing. Only one radar set at the base but another 10 in two bases just two hexes away and Iīve thought they would add in too. Nevertheless, it was costly for the attacker and Iīm sure theyīve lost some high experienced bomber crews over our base. We didnīt lose a single pilot today but two dozen aircraft were destroyed on the ground.

My biggest concern at the moment is the fact that my fighters get damaged just from flying Cap. And this didnīt happen the first two years of the war so that canīt be mod related. Itīs BS...

Do you speak of the fact that the real transport plane range is not the extended radius but half total radius (which is greater)?
If something else, don't say anything about it please

transport plane range should be extended range but not total max range (for transfer) of the aircraft. But it isnīt for picking up units... bug that showed up with some of the later patches and never been corrected.
