OK, I moved an AV to one of the beaches north of Espirtu Santu, dropped some supplies there, and based some Catalinas for recon. The display shows 12 catalinas ready.

How can I tell if they are actually flying? I have yet to see a "xxx missions cancelled due to weather" message for these aircraft. Are recon aircraft affected by weather? How do I know if these a/c are doing anything (the PBY has such a long range that I can't be sure *which* PBYs are doing my spotting.

This is a great game!

On the pilot screen is shown the number of missions for each pilot.

If this number increases day after day ... then your Catalinas are flying :)

Yup, checking the missions per pilot is the best method.

Sure enough (as I sure you are all relieved to hear ;-), the Cats are flying just fine. Makes me think that recon is not affected by weather (in terms of flying missions at any rate). Either that, or I think I just found paradise...... north of Luganville

Actually, I was wondering about weather effects on Recon and Naval Search missions as well. I have never seen a missions cancelled measage except for bases which are attempting to fly offensive missions. And I THINK I've seen recon missions fly from shut down bases.

Can anyone confirm or deny weather effects on Recon and Naval Search?
