I started the quiet China campaign, and after a month into the game poor China is getting mauled by the japs. I havent tended to them at all since i took it this senario practically dealt with it itself? I am beginning to wonder if China wont last more than a few months with this rate.. :-P

Strange, but keep at it for a while, might be that the Japs will be content with some early offensives to take a couple of front cities to straighten the lines.

Please zip and post a save in tech support as well as which scenario you are playing.

You didn't by chance capture Canton did you?

Same here.  I'm at 23 DEC and the IJA is making several pushes.  Big battle at Loyang {the AI does not have enough force, but I am afraid to counter attack due to low supplies} and they are 40 miles from Changsha.  They have caused a LOT of caulties among the far flung units but they might be slowing down some for the past 4-5 days {game time}.  I don't know how this will work out, but was surprised because this was the "Quiet China" scenario.  I'd hate to see the "Loud China" scenario!

You know, I was whining about the China front--I was probably one of the instigators of the whole Quiet China thing--but I've changed my mind. It's actually a compelling, interesting part of the game.

Whoops.

No, i havent invaded Canton. But it seems China do defend themself pretty ok now, i have massed their forces to chokepoint-cities and for now they withstand the pressure... very fun :)

Yes i agree with above poster, China theatre is getting more and more interesting...

I'm playing that scenario too and the Chinese are getting hammered  halfway through 1/42.  The Japanese have taken all the coastal and near-coastal cities and are pushing everything ahead of them as they advance into the interior.  It really doesn't appear to be any different from the traditional CG in fact.

:) so far blackjack has been kind and if I hadnt been rivered at the Venetian last night it might have been a very good trip !!

All other activities are classified...

OK re china I have looked at a few saves and checked all the scripts and the AI is quiet.

What you may be seeing is the AI attacking units in the same hex at start and the AI has a pursuit code

In the quiet China Scen the AI takes HK thats it beyond that it will attack units in the same hex as it at start and may pursue them but it has no strategic direction if someone is seeing the AI in a quiet AI game TAKING additonal bases from the Chinese please send me a save I cannot find anytghing wrong with it.

Andy

What happens in Vegas doesn`t neccessarily stay there, it can come home with you

There is some code from witp that would use units to attack targets it thinks it can win against. In AE I found a couple of bugs with this and fixed it and made it to use only units that are not assigned to ai scripts so, by unassigning all those Japanese units the built in AI now has a lot of units to play with. When Andy made the quiet China scenarios it never occured to me that this code would kick in to the dregree it has because I never really saw it work until now.

Yeah, in my case it seems like after the first month the "nada-AI" has run out of steam.
