I've twice had a ship (xAK Sagami) sunk in Wewak. Odd thing was it was the only ship in its TF (I had split off its escort to allow Sagami to dock). The escorts' TF comes under air attack, Sagami is not attacked in the replay. At the end of the turn, Sagami is heavily damaged as if she was hit.

Is this a bug or is FoW so extreme that a ship not attacked in the replay and part of a separate TF can take damage from an air attack on the same hex?

PS - This occurred twice, once under the hotfix and once under 804, so it happened both pre and post patch 1. Guad scenario.

Hello Cribtop,

I had a similiar happening as well. But I checked the Operational report as Loricas said and it stated the ship had struck underwater rocks near the shore.

ALthough it wasn't reported in game, it explained why the ship had mysteriously sunk. Perhaps this should also be included "in game"? Why it isn't, I'm not sure?

Because it is an operational issue, not combat.

Yip same here, xAK Daisin Maru sunk by 500lbs bomb but no air strike in sight. Same ship hit two turns in a row off-loading troops at Vigan

You are all correct. Ops report showed the hit in Sagami.
