I'm having mixed results as the Axis vs Norway in Sep 39 having taken Denmark. I don't seem to be able to paradrop at all, my air units won't reach, and my Panzer div (Oslo) and Infanterie (Narvik) are destroyed by intercepting naval forces.

In one campaign I successfully landed with no resistance, but that was after invading Holland. Any hints and tips?

My current plan is just to leave Norway and focus on taking Britain.

Hey John,
what I do is just wait a few turns and Norway surrenders without a fight, but for some reason if you land forces in Norway they fight to the end, I hope this helps.

One of the things that we discussed many months ago, but which was apparently forgotten in the rush to get ToW out the door was the decision made to move Oslo to the Baltic Sea zone which is where it should always have been, both geographicaly and strategicly.

Hisorically, the advantage of Norway to Germany was as a U-Boat base. Given the condition of the naval game, does it matter? Is there any point in conquering Norway?

aBSOLUTELY. wE'RE ALSO TRYING TO MAKE 2 CHANGES IN THE PROPOSED NAVAL PATCH THAT WOULD MAKE CONQUERING nORWAY EVEN MORE CRITICAL. oops
We want to make it possible for air units to attack convoys and make them more effective against shipping. There is also a proposal to add some coastal sea areas, including an Arctic Sea Zone that would only be open in the summer. These changes would give Norway the strategic importance it deserves.
Currently basing ships and subs in Norway has some effect on traffic around the North Cape.

I completely agree with these important improvements!

Then Norway would have the strategic importance in the game that it did in reality.

Really hope these improvements come to pass.
