Reading a lot of the board posts, AARs, and game info has my attention, especially since this is a WW2 strategic air war simulator.

The turns are one day per turn, but as its played out how long does it take for the results of that turn to play out? I know of another IGOUGO game (Combat Mission BO:BB:AK), so is it similar in that sense?

The gameplay looks and sounds similar to Carriers at War in that you send out your squads with orders; however that game is a little closer to real time as you can set the turns in time intervals from 5 mins a turn to an hour a turn.

Don't know what to say here really except it depends on whether your Attacker or defender. If your the attacker, then you set your raids for the day (though I have to investigate this more, as I mainly play as RAF in the Eagle Day(defender)). It really is an exceptional game system and whilst you have very little to do whilst your bombing raids play out, you have plenty of work setting them up...and it really is quite exciting to see your raids play out. As defender, you have more to do as you can set intercepts and patrols

In BTR the attacker could spend over an hour planning detailed raids across day and night, ETO and MTO. You might do that 2 or 3 days in 7, with the other days being faster to plot for rest or weather. Against the AI, the resolution could be from 15 to 30 minutes, depending on the message level you have set. Against a Human opponent the defender could take an hour to defend against this, depending on pauses and the intensity of combat.

In a defender v AI campaign it is a little faster, as the AI never plots as detailed raids as a human...

ED is faster still, as the field of battle is slower...

It definitely ha nothing to do with carriers at war. Completely different.
As said the attacker has the planning to do, the defender the reacting. so if you pick the defender, you better have some time available to resolve the attack

Thanks for the responses guys. I've been a flight simmer for the past several years, but now I think it's time to command the situation from the warroom. I'm sold!
