Hello , I know that spwaw 7.1 brought the innovation that two players can play a campaign though the second player can only have a passive role ..that is he can only fight but no purchasing or upgrading...also no secure game is allowed...

That is the point , now I don't know how to activate such way of playing
can anyone of you help me please ?

I created a generated campaign and saved it , then chosen Play By email ..but the game is always a solitaire game.

How can I start a campaign and then let the human opponent play as the AI ?

Than k you !

Select solitare and the choose a campaign or a generated one. Then select your core force, when finished the player screen will come up, change player 2 to human controlled, and then continue, then you choose your support force. Deploy them and then quit deploy then the game will come to the save screen, select a slot and save, exit game and then zip all files associated to that slot in the MatrixGames\SPWAW\save folder and send them to your oppenent, have him unzip to the same folder and then start the game normally and he/she will choose load save and away you go. After each turn is completed zip the save and email back and forth. It takes a little more effort to do a campaign but it will work. Adjust the settings in the preference screen before saving it if you want certain options kept throughout such as limited ammo and intel. The person how creates the PBEM determines how and what preferences are set and the opponent can't change anything that will effect the gameplay. I hope this helps.

Well, the second player CAN buy and deploy his forces, but I think only long campaign can be played, I have a generated one going, and to my knowledge everytime I start up a new turn, there is no option for setting any player settings!! The buttons don't show to change from AI to human, as in a regular scenario, or campaign. That probably is the problem you are experiencing, Ruxius!;)

Thank you Gmenfan , waiting for your reply I tried several steps and that seems to be the only one which is working...

Now we are at step two..the game is set as a standard PBEM except for the fact the opponent seems not to be able to purchase...

In the campaign I am going to make some more experiments to see if it accepts units from the designer but I had rather the opponent chooses it's one..

If you know more about step I would be happy sir !

To Warrior :
following gmenfan insstruction the thing work as a PBEM...how did you manage to buy and deploy his forces ? that is the last thing I need ..
Thank you !

I know my procedures worked with a pre-built campaign, I passed these instructions to OKW-73 and he said it worked like a charm, there must be some underlying issue with the generated campaign I didn't check, Sorry:(

But we did figure out what the problem was with the surrendering, and it shouldn't be a problem anymore.

I am quite interested in this thread also. I am going to try and be one of his opponents in this campaign and appreciate all the help you give us. He is a tough opponent for me and I would appreciate any type help I could get on assembling my nuclear cataput. Preferably , one that can propel a hugh stone far enough ahead to not giving my recon units headaches. :) :) :D

Hello Dave , ( my tough opponent for such campaign )
glad to celebrate your 50 post here "" :D
So it's how I was guessing..no upgrade for any human opponent...I was quite sure about that ..but not the same about the second player purchasing its own units....
you know..that will force the two players to have a third human designing scenarios...

we have to look about this issue....
anyway thank you to everybody who can help us...
