Hi,

I've been playing TOAW for some time against the PO, and I wondered if there were some way of supressing the Air Strike dialog. I dont want to turn off air strikes ! just remove the irritating neccessity of clicking on the OK button every time - it makes playing the Germans in Normandy a very long tedious affair because almost every move attracts an air strike ....

You can try turning off the 'detailed combat reports' in the 'advanced game options' while you are moving.

It seems I already have that option turned off. Thanks for the suggestion anyhow. Any other ideas about what I could check ?

I cranked up 'Normandy 44' and I see what you mean, every air strike brings up a dialogue box that stops the action. The Allies had 33% interdiction on me, so just about every hex I moved into created an air strike . I also suffered about 30 air strikes at the end of my turn, each one bringing up the dialogue box again.

I play with caps lock ON and detailed combat reports OFF and I don't recall having to halt play for interdiction results.

Vahauser,

Thats not my experience - odd that you mention the Caps Lock key - I tried that following your post and made no difference. A scenario with heavy enemy interdiction is just about unplayable for me. I'm running 3.2.29.27 Century of Warface Edition, is yours different ?

I just want to confirm that caps on and detailed reports off do not prevent the air interdiction pop-ups in the latest official TOAW3 patch.

I didn't say that. I get the pop-ups, too. But the pop-ups just appear and then disappear and the game is not halted for me.

Vanhauser,

Sorry - I didn't understand your earlier post. The behaviour I see is that every air strike requires me to click OK on the Air Strike dialog. There is seemingly no way of turning this dialog off; when every unit move I carry out attracts one or more Air Strike dialogs, the game doesn't freeze or halt, it just requires me to click OK - multiple times for every unit in air-heavy scenarios. In Normandy 44 this means that playing as the German player requires hundreds of Air Strike Dialog clicks every turn, which I admit isn't "game halted" just "game unplayable". I understand that the Air Strikes are taking place, and its not something I'm trying to prevent; its just I don't need Elmer telling me every time it makes one and asking me click on the OK button every time. If its not something that the player can turn off, or can alter the impact of, and as far as I can see, its not actually useful (it doesn't even give me losses or other useful info) so it might just be an unfortunate game design choice.

If anyone has a way of turning it off, some unplayable scenarios will suddenly be opened up for me; a good day. If not, c'est la vie.

I usually hold down the Enter key until all pop-ups are gone.
