So I started a game as the Allies 2 weeks ago. It was against the AI and I make it a point to not assign any orders to anyone but the chinese on the first day of war.

And in the first 3 days of the war, I had an Aussie Buffalo pilot out of Singapore with 7 kills! He had single handedly saved the Repulse and PoW! He show down 4 Nells and 3 Betties by my count. His squadron helped turn back wave after wave (4 or 5). Repulse took 3 Torps and limped home with 80ish float damage and the PoW only took one with about 20ish float damage. It was exciting to watch!

Well the other night I decide it's time to reinstall my OS. I THOUGHT I copied all of my important game files over, but alas, there was one I missed. (Sadly my WitP:AE file)

I was only 3-4 turns into the last game so I decided to restart again last night. Well one turn and 9 torpedoes later the Repluse and PoW are future scuba diving attractions.

You will be missed my nameless aussie friend!

Does anyone else have any stories of heroism in game?

Also here is a random thought for the Devs: Would there be a way to put in a way to recognize heroism? Say after a turn you can click a button (Award Recognition) and it opens a little notepad where it saves the date and a small snippet about what a unit did on that date so you can review it at a later time?

Definitly my personal in-game hero is Rear Admiral Francis Rockwell, Commander of a large surface combat TF in my PBEM game. Killed on board of BB New Mexico on 13th April 42 after bravely batteling through a series of encounters to relieve Port Morseby and finally runs out of ammo. On 13th later his TF was slaughtered by Japanese Carrier based planes. Rest in peace...
