I'm not sure the Republican side for DoDIII should even have a TRS. When Azana gave Stalin the 510 tonnes of Spanish gold reserves, Stalin had to transport it himself...and even "charged" Spain for the transport.

Spain have 1 TRS in 1939, because 1 TRS = 6 CP = 1,000,000 tons of shipping.

Here are the merchant shippings of countries in 1939 (Source : Talbot Booth's Merchant Fleets 1939) :

Tonnage
CW 20 700 000
USA 8 900 000
Japan 5 000 000
Norway 4 600 000
Germany 3 301 702
Italy 3 260 000
France 2 880 000
Netherlands 2 850 000
Russia 1 270 000
Denmark 1 150 000
Sweden 1 570 000
Spain 945 000
Finland 540 000
Belgium 430 000
Brazil 480 000

# ships
CW 9 000
USA 2 350

The scale is
1 TRS = 1,000,000 tons of shipping
6 CP = 1,000,000 tons of shipping
6 CP is equivallent to 1 TRS in terms of how many ships it represents.

For Brazil the above source gives 480 000 tons of merchant shipping. 480 000 tons is 0.48 x 6 CP which is 2.88 CP.
Harry chose to make that 2 CP available for the allies of Brazil. Sounds correct.

I don't know the figure for Central America (which is representing numerous real world countries in WiF FE, Panama, Guatemala, Costa Rica and more), but it must be something arounf 1 million tons for Harry to give them 5 CP.

Excellent info. I love to see the actual numbers. No interpretation, no shading, no opinions, just data. I will then make up my own mind.

WiF is based on lots of actual numbers, you'd be surprised. This is one of its aspects that I love.

Joseignacio, thank-you for taking the trouble to PM . Unfortunately not being a Spanish speaker means that the information on the sites highlighted is somewhat limited for someone like me, whose knowledge of Spain does not include the language and is limited to Real Madrid, Barcelona - oh and of course Atletico Madrid, 5-1 1963 European Cup Winners Cup Final

Seriously though, the list of Spanish ships was useful and while looking up some of these names, I stumbled across a potentially excellent reference book on merchant ships that I will hopefully be able to use to good effect for not only the Spanish, but other nationalities as well. I await its delivery from Amazon - and if its as good as I hope, then I may be able to complete the TRS counters for many of the countries.

Glad to read that. Don't hesitate to ask whatever you may need.
