WCS is headquartered in Ann Arbor (well, Scio Township, just beyond its boundary) and we all went to Michigan. I'll let you all connect the dots...

Is that where you expected the two teams to finish in the national rankings?

Badgers

Raised and lived in Wisconsin my whole life.   My daughter is a Wisconsin Grad and my son-in-law is a Penn State Grad.  Makes it interesting at times.

A night to remember.  Way back in 1969 the Badgers had not won a game for 3 years.  I was attending UW Madison at the time and went to the Iowa game.  The Badgers won.  As you all may know, Wisconsin has topped the list of drinking and party schools many times.  Add that to the first game won in three years and you get one heck of a wild night.

I like Iowa. Back in the really old days I would listen to Iowa football on the radio, the AM radio. For some reason they had a tape delayed broadcast of their game late at night on a clear channel, and I would listen to them a lot.

As for Ohio St., a blanket apology to all OSU fans. I was just kidding. I really kind of like the Big Ten and have nothing against any Big Ten school.

And there is really only one university I really dislike, Southern Cal. And then there is Notre Dame. Forgot about them. Dislike is the wrong word for them.

Having lived in Columbus while teaching at OSU -- and, of course, wearing my Michigan t-shirt to class when it was appropriate -- I'll say that I'm certainly a fan of the city itself. And I liked some of my students. But not others. Especially the ones whom I grudgingly gave D's and C's when at a school with higher standards I would have failed them...

I grew up in Northwest Ohio on the Michigan/Ohio state line. Ann Arbor was much closer than Columbus so about as many wolverine fans as buckeye fans.

My brother went to Illinois, I remember going to a football game and seeing Chief Illini. I thought the decision to get rid of him was stupid.

Illini had no choice, NCAA pegged the Chief hostile and abusive then proceeded to ban all post season games from the university across the board not just football all NCAA activities till the removal of the mascot .

hostile and abusive ………

Chief was still there while I was attending school. IMHO, his presentation was dignified. He was not a typical "mascot" in that he did not try to get the fans to cheer; he didn't run up and down the sidelines during the game; was not a "rah-rah" figure. He came out at halftime of Illini football and basketbal games and performed a dance.

I felt the NCAA was wrong in the actions they took.

Florida State University retains its "Seminole" nickname and its Chief Osceoloa mascot, in part due to the official support of the Florida Seminole Indian tribe.

Well, that sucked. But to me, 30-28 is within the margin of error. I demand a recount!

Interestingly, poll data showed most Native Americans favored Indian mascots, even the Washington Redskins mascot.  This was a solution for a problem that did not exist except in the minds of a small minority of a small minority.  My wife and daughter btw are of Native American ancestry, with documents to prove it, meaning not the "Well, my great-grandma was an Indian" variety.  They thought the mascot thing was absurd.  And how exactly has it improved the lives of Native Americans?

I'll bet that Iowa couldn't score more than sixty points against the Delaware State Hornets. Sadly, I'll never get to prove it...

If Ohio State doesn't bench Pryor we're going to be pushed out of the rankings.
