Well, just wanted to know fom the more experienced players how I was doing thus far in my game - at the end of '41 as Allied.

89 Japanese ships sunk..including 1 BB, 1 CVL
82 Allied ships lost...Largest is a CL.

987 Japanese planes lost.
454 Allied planes lost.

Ground casualties:
roughly 1050 Allied, 150 Japanese

Lost Clark Field....just lost Rabaul. Hold Wake and 40% of the Singapore peninsula. Hold 80% of Borneo, held Canton.

I suppose Allied vs japanese IA of course...

<82 Allied ships lost...Largest is a CL.
Very strange,no Pearl harbour?

<Lost Clark Field....
So soon? do you concentrated in Manila?? seems a bad move , depending on Bataan ocupation

<40% of the Singapore peninsula. Hold 80% of Borneo, held Canton.

Normal progresion on 41, and you can hold canton (island) indefinitely with determined defense....

Brother, you need to solicit an email game and suggest a "no harm done at Pearl Harbor" house rule.

So you have the entire Pacific fleet intact and you haven't occupied Tokyo or at the least Hokkaido yet?

How are you doing?  Impossible to tell.  Not sure of anyone that can credibly answer the question since you pulled everything out of PH before the Jap raid.

Hey, in exchange for a "no strategic bombing the Home Islands" HR, that would be a fair discussion.

How did you manage to lose 82 ships in three weeks without PH in the mix? AE is definitely a ship eater compared to WITP especially during the first few weeks, but with experience and a little luck the Allied player can make it to Jan 42 with only 20-30 ships. Did the Japanese sink everything at Manila or Singapore?

Some there in Manila and Singapore, but most in retreat from the area -  and attempts to supply Burma by sea. Also, the subs along the US west coast are unforgiving. And there were a couple of supply task forces someone should have paid closer attention to

Well, one thing is for sure you have a great deal of action going on and that makes for a very exciting game. The development team put a lot of wonderful suprises in the game such as those pesky subs off the West Coast, I lost my share of ships to them and was forced to pull back some destroyers from PH to deal with them. It is also helpful to use the Canadian & US search planes en mass by leveraging the ability to adjust there courses to heavily cover the hexes close to the coast.

You can supply PM from sea, but you have to form the supply TF very quickly (turn 1 or 2). I have made successful runs with 15 or 20 transports (1000 ton at 10 knots escorted by two or three ASW ships) starting at Melbourne & joining others formed up at Sydney. You can even use some of the dutch transports to grab some quick supplies from various bases and islands you are evacuating, send them to Darwin to join into a larger TF supported by Dutch destroyers or US destroyers out of Manila. The trick is to get them to PM in a hurry.
