Went out on the balcony to have a smoke, just in time to see an old DC-3 circling in the sky. What a beauty.

It also reminds me that I have to change orders for my transport units

I remember when weekends meant sleeping in....and then along came youth hockey.

My son is starting in goal today.  The same team lost 7-0 yesterday morning, but I can't wait to see the difference he makes.  He won his first game with his second team, 5-2, playing against players ranging from 1-3 years older than him.  They needed a goalie.

I know the feeling. Between my daughter and my marathon training I don't get to sleep in like I used to. So now its go to bed early if I need the extra sleep.

It's either a frigate class warship or tight woolen underwear worn through a marathon.

How juvenile

But I still smiled...

The Royal Navy has used some odd names through the years.

I still agree with T.

Back in the 1970s or early 80's my brother-in-law served on a US Navy nuclear attack submarine named the USS Pogy. Now I know a pogy is a fish. However what the heck kind of name for something as deadly as a nuclear powered attack sub is is Pogy?

Serving on HMS Decoy would not have filled me with much confidence when the shooting started...

Naming ammunition ships after volcanoes was a particularly inspired move as well...

The Cockchafer () was an Insect-class river gunboat, commissioned in 1916 and scrapped in 1947. Here's a pic of her in 1943:
