Fall 1939

Germany:

TLC invaded and fortified; ready to take the full force of the French.
Vet Uboot seeks for prey in the Atlantic, but looks like the convoys turned tail and returned to their own docks...

Japan:

Liuchow taken with no losses. Militia upgraded to Inf after battle.
Some shuffling around... China seems desperate to hold Changsha... we'll see.

Turn sent to Claude.

Winter 1940

Germany:

After some naval action in the Baltic, Luftwaffe and the Heer both support the idea of establishing a military base in Denmark.
Luftwaffe successfully engages the RN off Denmark, destroying Battleship.
Vet Uboot destroys trannie off French West Africa.

W France attacked (with 70% success), however Claude really got good luck, and some autohits caused terrific losses (1 ftr, 3 inf and 2 art damaged).

As a compensation, Turkey realizes who are to win this war. Turkey Leaning Axis now.

Japan:

Liuchow attacked (with 90% success), but, dammit, Claude's bag of luck will never empty. 2 autohits by militias damages 2 Jap Inf.
Changsha factory torched. No toys for this Christmas... from Changsha.
Awaiting ze Fuehrer to overcome the Allies in France, so French Indochina should bear the name of Japanese Indochina.
Flying Tigers are hunted down for an overall cost of 1 Elite Ftr and 1 regular Ftr.

Turn sent to Claude.
Thanks for watching, Sapper.

Spring 1940

Germany:

Maginot Line breached, French surrender at no cost.
Repairing infrastructure, shuffling troops around.

Luftwaffe engages trannie in Scotland; damn, Claude certainly HAS luck: trannie survived, rolled lots of 1s and 2s.

Luftwaffe deploys in W France for Eagle Day.

Fortuna instead compensated for the bad luck with enabling Portugal to join the Axis camp.
Attacking it will certainly make some South-American countries to side with me.

Japan:

Hirohito thanks ze Fuehrer French Indochina.

Kunming attacked, but lost confidence in my luck; again, failed at 83% success...

Shuffled troops and supplies around...

Turn sent to Claude.

Yes , I am lucky! Still, everything is possible at this stage of the war, including dramatic fiasco with any well conceived operation. That is what a game is about otherwise, it would be kind of boring to let numbers speak all the time. As far as I can see, we are both rather cautious. I expected a Seelow but where are the planes and subs required? In the queue? Well, transports are there (6-7).

Summer 1940

Germany:

Italy joined, initiated Unternehmen Herkules on Malta, but was repulsed by a lone militia! (67% success with air/naval support)

Egypt taken, ready to march into Cairo.

Greece sided with the Axis. Even though dice are not my allies, diplomacy is certainly is!

Japan:

Some more shuffling around, China's last two holdings discouraged Hirohito to move inland... maybe next time.

Changsha factory leveled, but CAG damaged in the process.

Turn sent to Claude.

Fall 1940

Germany:

More fighters stacked up in W France for Eagle Day.

Yugoslavia occupied, Balkan is under Axis rule.

Malta taken at the cost of another autohit by militia... I'm sure I won't battle Claude again, until he promises he won't do any more autohits... this is getting much more unbalanced!

Cairo is in sight for the Desert Fox.

Japan:

Forces shuffled around.

Factory torched in Chunking.

Turn sent to Claude.

Winter 1941

Germany:

Eagle Day. RAF shot down over London, (3 ftr damaged, 2 Brit ftr damaged + 1 destroyed).

Luftwaffe engages the RN in the Scottish Sea, destroying a LF, damaged 1 bomber.

Desert Fox turns tail and returns in Tobruk.

Uboots move in the Atlantic, engage trannie, but survives.

Troops heading East.

Japan:

China took Shangai (again, autohits... why is, that Claude has min 3 autohits per turn, and I have none!?).

Preparing for revenge.

Turn sent to Claude.

P.S. Is it possible to make dice better than your opponent's? Because this is getting more annoying...

Spring 1941

Germany:

Uboot takes care of a trannie in the Atlantic, but Claude's supply route is still not cut of (it will be ).

Syria joins Germany, but it couldn't be reinforced. Iraq captured, so the capture of Iraq could not depend only on luck.

Naval battle in the E Med; results fairly even, but Italian casualties are higher...

RAF shot down again, trannie hunted down in London Docks.
TAC turns elite.

Troops moved east.

Japan:

Hirohito regains the initiative in China, destroying the whole Chinese Army in Shanghai, securing also the western borders of the Empire.
(Combined Arms + naval/air support).

Resource repaired, units shuffled around...

Turn sent to Claude.

I don't blame him for being lucky; only I had never seen so many autohits in a row! Anyway, let us hope we are looking forward for a well balanced game..

AAR will be continued on Tuesday. Claude is out of town 'til then.

Ouch! I knew my brave chinese soldiers would pay the price of their boldness but that is what I call a nuclear type attack! Not even one survived! And to make a story short I had 4 Heavy Fleets damaged in the med without any tangible benefits! Moreover, after 7 turns, I had only 2 units turning veterans while Szili you got so many I can't count them! And to top that over, despite very large expenses in the intelligence field, I almost got no information and very few tech steal? Who talks about luck? Diplomacy is a disaster. Hum! I think I'm looking forward Barbarossa. It might be the only place I get a yellow star someday! Seriously, I don't mind what fortuna brings as long as we have good intense battles! So, It's just the beginning as UK and China won't be alone anymore...say next turn?

Summer 1941

Germany:

'Unternehmen Barbarossa' kicked off; Baltic States (after initially retreating), Eastern Poland, Kiev and Byelorussia taken, although Panzers were positioned in East Prussia; Soviets moved enough units to Leningrad, to stand a chance against the Panzerwaffe...

In Kiev the Soviets took heavy losses, and two militias were upgraded to Infantries; although the same applies on German forces in the Baltic who initially were forced to retreat...

Doenitz is now ze Fuehrer's favorite; Uboots cut off England, and 4 wolfpacks are patrolling the Atlantic.

TAC damaged in Cairo, Rommel again pursues Montgomery back to Cairo. Hope, that supplies will arrive in time .

Norway invaded also to make sure that Finland will join the 'Crusade in the East'.

Japan:

Changsha taken, due to Chinese retreat (I guess this was the intention of my adversary, to pin me down 'til I hit the US). Although, I have plans, which I still don't wish to talk about. In other words: CONFIDENTIAL.

Lucky autohit (my turn is now with autohits ) damaged factory in Chunking.

Turn sent to Claude.
Then to not to be rude, good luck, Claude!
