The new update to game is very nice indeed but it was noted that the rounding of strength factors was to be optional and I have yet to find how to place it back to partial ..10ths of a point settings as it once was. I deeply prefer to be able to see exact strength levels verses this rounded effect. I would be most grateful if anyone might have a way to simply allow the old version of seeing 10ths of a point strength levels verses this rounded effect?
Well that was clever of you, but alas I would hope to find an answer to this most minor issue. I find that the decimals allow me to control the waste of attacks and reduce the need to add more into a given battle than is necessary. It also allows one to determine effects of airial tactical attacks verses the rounded effect. Hopefully there is someone who might know which file to modify to set the decimal system back into effect while keeping all other portions of the update active.

Thank you kindly,

I disagree most strongly with everything you believe in, but will defend to the death your right to express your beliefs.
In this case, I too dislike the imposition of the socialist rounding to the lowest denomenator, but while we can often express an opinion, we rarely get a vote. I'm afraid that we're probably stuck with it.

The decimals are still shown in the details on the side for the active unit, and during combined attacks. Don't know if there is a way to mod it to show the full value on the counters/sprites.
There is no way to mod it right now, it can be only changed in code. We can change it back to decimal system but only if most of you guys want it back... few votes is no enough ;)
egads please no to the decimal. Optimally I would love a check box, or one of those nifty f# options to toggle between them. The whole layout looks so much nicer with whole numbers.. reducing screen clutter is NOT just appealing to my anal side, in a game of this scope a cleaner/easier look makes a huge difference when your trying to pour over the map to see the big picture.

An option for decimals would be best. I have learned to live without it, but there are times.
One thing I would like is a function key to highlight all units that could use replacements. It is burdensome to have to click down a long line each turn looking for damaged units. If someone knows an easier way to do this I would love to know it.

Changing from decimals to rounded numbers has been a big impovement in the look of the counters (particularaly with some of the excellent mods) and was pretty near the top of my wish list prior to the 1.60 patch. Also from my boardgaming perspective I've always hated factor counting to get to the next break point in the CRTs thus the rounding system works fine for me.
As an option fine, just as long as I don't have to use it myself.
cpdeyoung - understrength units will have a little blinking dot (second one down out of the possible three) though this isn't on some of the modded counters which you may be using

Carnifex's (sp?) counter mod has that feature when one zooms out to the flag level.
Yeah Carni's mod is a real help. I zoom out to the flag level note the units with an amber dot next to them (really easy to see) then I zoom in to see the unit and decide on the repairs.
I quite understand if you hardcoded the new system..I can surely work around it. I just enjoy the aspect of seeing exact strengths so that I can control losses and waste of attacks. I love micromanaging such encounters. I just hoped it was optional to switch on/off. I am sure most like the simplicity but in this niche market, I love the ability to know exactly how strong my units are to manage the reinforcement schedule for all my good soviets.. its rather difficult keeping them all combat worthy. What occurs is I will end up over compensating when I can use average production to keep them viable. Well no worries, I enjoy the game either way just wished that the decimal ability would be a choice for us micromanagers.
While rounding it off cleans the counters up, I think I'd rather have the decimal showing just so I can keep from darting my eyes back and forth across the screen so much. I probably look psychotic.

I, too, vote for the decimal. I think the 1.5 version of the counters looked way cool (but I play with one of the mods). Bending to what seems to be the popular will, adding the decimal as an option appears to be the better choice.
I would think that a socialist would deeply approve of rounding everything down.
We actually prefer to RAISE all levels to equality, but I recognise and accept that you've been fed propaganda and therfore have an incorrect perception.
The decimal must remain for calculations and be shown in the detailed information boxes, but should be toggled (togglable?) on or off the counters at the player's option.

War for the decimal..its more micromanagement and I enjoy such...lets my good Soviets do well against the fascists. I can still squash the germans by 1942 but i prefer the aspect of control. Less waste..and more control for my good reds.
A double line all pushed with int intel for growth, with molotov line..i can squelch the gernmans easily...all armour to the romanian front to crush all the rumanians, bulgarians, hungarian nationalists...my liberation front can control these rapscalions and their italian masters. I can roll the germans back from poland front areas with due control. Of course liberate poland and eastern germany then attack the capitalist british and americans...one world..one socialist state.

Maybe the British and Commonwealth units should have their strength represented in Imperial units and their production points in l/s/d
I vote for no return to the continental decimal system, but in the spirit of entente cordiale an option would be fine if the devs want to put the work in to do it.
P.S. just don't do something that means the excellent modders have to re-do (if they can be bothered) their work again

Decimals is most enlightened and reasonable.. the americans have little interest in reality. sadly. We good liberal british know the reason for such intransiance....oh well..no worries..... The world will revolve weather we wish it to or not..lol...cheers comrade..
