ORIGINAL: rockmedic109 Platoon scale war wide? That would be a bit much. If you're old to enough to remember Avalon Hill games, and their magazine, "The General" (or, since I am that old, maybe it was SPI in S&T), when they, jokingly, ran an article about "IT" ... WW2 on a 1:1 scale. Yes. One counter = 1 man. Map scale was not quite 1 m = 1 hex but, allegedly, it required a football stadium to set up just the ETO maps ... So, let's have on with it ... "War in the World: 1933-1950" (with optional extension packs, of course, taking it through the Cold War ) on a 1:1 scale! You could use the Doom engine for resolving battles on an individual scale ... massively multiplayer would take on a whole new meaning Bring it on! Phil Yes I remember IT!! Absolutely brilliant article!! It really cracked me up at the time and I wish I had kept a copy. I don't think the article was in The General as I didn't read that magazine. I think it might have been in an issue of Moves magazine which was a SPI product IIRC.
