Thanks again for the kind words guys, the vet has just phoned us with some initial results from the post mortem we asked her to carry out.  It turns out that there was nothing we could have done, even if we'd taken her in on Friday when she started being sick.  Her pancreas was shot the vet hadn't seen anything like it, they don't think it was anything caused by external factors so our other dog should be fine.

Well, I've had a crappy enough weekend as it is so I'm signing off for now.  I'll be back in a day or so, take care chaps.

Not to make a hrad time, harder, but.

USCG C-130 whacked a USMC Cobra off San Clemente Friday nite. Both went down about six miles off the coast. Nine crew total. USCG is pushing very hard on the search - water ain't that cold and every boat I know went and stayed on station for 24 hrs - we are on watch and watch now.

Seven Guardsmen and two Marines, best we know. Prayers for rescue and the families of the deceased, gratefully accepted.

Heard about that one, John. Even if the water is relatively warm, exposure will be taking its toll. Here's hoping they're found before that.

Yeah, me too. Not much hope - they both augured in. Debris field is big. Navy, CG, and MC has every boat they got quartering. Us civilians have our own designated search area. Current flows South, here, and we are in the North sector; thank God. Ok, gotta go. we have a big boat with a lot of power for lights, so we got the 4-12 duty.

That well and truely sucks.

What does " on watch and watch now " mean ? Is that nautical term ?

Good morning!

Just read something funny: The Japs fought against 6.000 Germans in Tsingtao. When the war was over, they decorated their soldiers with 145.000 medals. This is a ratio of 24 medals for the own men for every enemy soldier. I guess they might have built an additional DD with all that metal

I think that would constitute trouble for all of us, and might force me to break out MY arsenal. We don't want that, do we?
