Hi all,

Tithe... Strangely sunny outside; I'd forgotten what sunshine looks like.

It is +17 degrees Centigrade here with blue skies and sun... strange... very strange... (not to mention unhealthy because the flu would spread even faster)...

Leo "Apollo11"

Leo-I'm not sure how you figure this. Sunlight is a good disinfectant and warmer temperatures very much inhibit spread of influenza viruses. At freezing temperature, influenza viruses can stick around an environment in excess of a month. At room temperatures, this time drops to 3-4 days.

Warm sunny weather is a blessing for influenza control! Enjoy!

Not bad at all, even if I'm not much of a Russel Crowe fan.

Hi all,

Since you guys started poetry...

Konstantin Simonov (to to Valentina Serova, written in 1941)

"Wait for me"

.....

Leo "Apollo11"

Its a beautiful poem. Unfortunately, it loses something in translation.

Anybody notice that any Emily Dickenson poem can be sung to "The Yellow Rose of Texas"?

Nice poem Leo.

Historiker, I am one of those who get planted for free in the marble orchard. Spouses also get planted but you only get one spot, since I'll probably go first she will get to be on top for eternity.

Now that's funny! I never expected to joke around own funerals...

We remember the at least 7.5 Million German soldiers who died in both world wars, today.

Very handsome uniform you guys have.

???

We're going through what blasted through Argentina about 6 months ago after first iterations here.

Some Aussie colleagues of ours received their H1N1 vaccs. about 2 months or so ago-hope NZ's vaccination program is as proactive.

Hey T:

I hope you're happy with the economic benefit we're providing your country this season.

My 5 YO son has identified no fewer than 5 different LEGO kits that he 'needs' for Christmas. Each large one is >$70 US.

Having a decent LEGO collection is an expensive proposition, but I must admit that they are one of the coolest toys ever developed for kids. I actually don't mind forking over my money to the orangemen on this issue.

Agreed. It was the only movie of his I ever gave a second thought to. But I loved it so much that I now cant help but associate him with the Goldilocks PO'B wrote about.

Police in Wuppertal said the car snatchers later turned into scaredy cats, abandoning the vehicle after crashing into a road sign.

A circus official said the 5-year-old lion named Caesar was unharmed and ready to return to the ring.

This is a beautiful picture. Many places have the same young soldiers guarding their own same death memorial for the millions who died. I think maybe some guards should come from all of Europe and maybe America too. A guard of 2 men from a country to learn about their comrads and honor, and a guard of 2 men from another country to honor a comrade or a honest enemy and a guard of 2 men from leaders. they must be magtigs and look at the faces of the young men they send to die and look at the faces of the young men they will kill and move evey body around so evey body sees all the other faces. I think we are all the same in death and I think we are all the same in honor.

Straight, good words!
We should learn that no civilized country should go to war with another civilized again. Can their be more stupidity to be forced killing someone you've never met before? Can something be more inhuman?
