I have some questions on some of the information screens from SPWAW: 1) Unit roster (clipboard): what does "Men" mean? I know in infantry units it would mean how many men left, but how about vehicles? I have one functional vehicle with 0 men in it, and another with 4. I assume the one with 0 is not robotic, so....... 2) Unit Roster: What does the Num mean? I see units that are active and have numbers ranging from 0 to 3, although most say 1. Obviously a single tank is ...er...single, so clearly this is not the meaning of the column. 3) HQ Menu: there are two locations in the leader info which lost Orders, and each has the same number in it. I assume this is the number of orders available to the leader, but why is it listed twice? Thanks for the help, guys.

Some more questions; what does the color of the unit name in the unit roster mean. I have destroyed units that are red in some cases, green in others, and healthy units green for the most part, but red in some cases. Is there some pattern I am missing here?

I think color in the first column is red when units are out of contact, ie, out of radio contact or more than 3 hexes apart. In the second column, color is yellow when units are off board (artillery or airplanes) and red when are destroyed. If i'm wrong, i'll be corrected promptly Saludos a todos, Cona.

1). Men is the number of men, as you thought. Can you actually see and move this functional truck? In one battle I'm doing, I have a sniper that shows 0 men & I could rally him up, but does not exist on the battlefield & was actually killed by a mine that turn. Next turn, he will most likely be listed KIA. 2). Num seems to be strictly binary (0 or 1)and relates unit status, living or dead. All my living units are 1's all my dead are 0's, the above mentioned sniper is also a 0. 3). the first (top) shows the total number of orders the unit is capable of issuing, before suppression etc. The second shows the number of orders currently left, after suppression, & orders already given. and colour under the shots column, I THINK, indicates the iether the percentage of slot 1 shots left (green-most, yellow-half, red-few) or, more likely, the chance of a weapon breakdown on the next shot (green-low, yellow-moderate, red-high). as with Cana, I am not certain about the colours, and stand to be corrected. ------------------ Robert (Bonzo) Lindsay, Coordinator 28th (North-west) Battalion Headquarters http://dreadnaught.home.icq.com nwbattalion@icqmail.com

thanks guys for your help. Bonzo I will check that truck to see if you are right about it, but I am pretty sure that my original statement was correct. the name being red for out of contact is cool. Thanks, Cona. Bonzo, for Num, I would say you're right except that I have a 3 for one unit in that column, so it can't simply be binary. I wonder if Wild Bill have any ideas? thanks again guys!

Securitas, Is the unit that shows 3 in "num" a mortar squad? If so, it's the number of mortar tubes in the squad. ------------------ Billy Yank I don't define "my own" the way you want me to.

I've taken another look at the 'Num' issue after Billy Yank's post. I think BY is correct. If you right click on any of your units to bring up their stats you will see an entry "Value". Value shows a calculation of unit cost by multiplying a subunit cost by the number of subunits. Mortar units & others sometimes show 2 or 3 subunits which equal the whole 'Num' number. It may be that the 'Num' on the roster shows the remaining subsquads, thus allowing you to calculate the casualty costs being held against you, as I expect that your opponent gets points for partial knock-out of these divisible squads. ------------------ Robert (Bonzo) Lindsay, Coordinator 28th (North-west) Battalion Headquarters http://dreadnaught.home.icq.com nwbattalion@icqmail.com

Mortars use the 'num' stat. to tell you how many tubes they have. Thus an 81mm mortar unit with a num of 3 actually has three mortars firing as a group/unit. You will also notice that this mortar unit will be 3x as expensive as a mortar unit with a num of 1. BA Evans
