Not sure if this is some hidden change or a bug ;p

When I go to a base and create a fleet the ship I transfer into the new fleet dont show up in the list (bottom of the TF screen).
The number of ship in the new fleet increases properly but the list stays blank, have tried all types of TF and none of them work as they used to.

(Old way = select a ship on the top list, ship moves from top of screen to the bottom of screen.)

This is with a game started under patch1 and continued with the new patch2.

Hmm, what ever caused it appears to have been fixed by a reload.
Maybe the initial conversion from old version to new version? /shrug

Will keep an eye out in case something else causes it.

I think what is happening but can't prove it, is that the top of the bottom scroll box is below the top line of the list.
As a result as you add ships to the list, the top still isn't visible.

It might need a large number of ships to breech the gap.

Reloading the save would set all these 'tops' back to '1' which explains why it works again.

I had a similar issue with one of my air group lists.
If I was at the bottom of a list of groups and then I filtered to remove items from the list so that everything would be on one page of the list, the new list suddenly showed nothing until I could add entries back and move the scroll bar back to the top.

I think your right. I just started a new game and after about half hour of setting things up and creating task forces etc the problem returned.
I did notice that when its happening in only does it when you click the 'create TF' button from within the main base overview screen. If I click directly on the little anchor icon for the base and then create the TF the ships show up fine.

Not a major bug but can be a little annoying.

This same thing happened in the beta wheras it did not happen in the 1084 version or before. I mentioned this a few weeks ago. Also when creating the new task force you may have some ships in the port whicvh you are unable to see as well. If there is more than one "page" of ships when creating a TF you may get a blank line where a ship is and not able to access it. One peculiar item is that it looks like multiple ships are all sharing the first line of code in the port screen where you are trying to select ships from for your task force. I noticed it happened mostlt in the SRA and India areas. It is annoying.

Just noticed another side effect from this. Was again playing the new game I started and about 30 minutes in the problem returned (TF ship list being blank), then while I was at the seatle base I tried to create a new fleet and about half the ships on the top of the screen were all in the 1st slot ... so that 1st line where a ship details should be was just a blur with about 10 ships details all on the same line. You can still click on the line and add the ships to a fleet, but there is no way to tell which ship your selecting.

Bug just keep getting worse :(

EDIT: Just noticed Pete above detailed the same thing happening. Why wasnt this fixed in beta?

problem is we can't replicate it, no matter how hard we try.

Not doubting it as I have seen the screen shots, just darn hard to make happen.
Unless you are player...

Ok Ive managed to track down one of the bugs ... the one where the top line of the ship list contains multiple ships. Attached the save in a zip.

To replicate the bug here's the exact steps to take:

1. Go to Sydney and click the flag to open up the main base screen.

2. Select "Ships anchored at Sydney"

3. Select "Manage ships under repair"

4. Select xAK Dilga and put it on "shipyard" repair option, select done.

5. On the next screen (ship list) select "Form new TF" and choose a "Cargo" TF

6. Look on the top line and you'll see the it has multiple ships all listed on that line on top of each other.

I know it's probably a different bug than the one which has the 'invisible' ships but they may be related I guess :)

M
EDIT: Tried it with no launch settings used (ie no -altfont etc) and the bug remains, so this one has nothing to do with those.

Ok also tracked down the 'invisible' ships on list bug. Same save as above, slightly different order of steps:

1. Go to Sydney and click the flag to open up the main base screen.
2. Select "Ships anchored at Sydney"
3. Select "Manage ships under repair"
4. Select xAK Dilga and put it on "shipyard" repair option, select done.

5. Now the differnce - on the next screen (ship list) click arrow -> "exit"
6. Now on the main map screen click the flag to open up Sydney base screen again
7. Select "Form new TF"
8. Select "cargo" type TF
9 Start adding ships to the new tf, you'll see that they are removed from the top but are invisible in the bottom screen.

Hopefully that will help you track these bugs down now :)

Didn't happen for me.

I have fixed the issue with the small ship display appearing on the main TF screen. It was a bleed through from the ship transfer when creating a new TF.

This change is in the code I am trying to run.

I will back out the change and see if I can replicate using your steps on the pure 1095 code.

EDIT
Yep. It looks like my fix to correct that display issue has also fixed the multi-ship line, and the vanishing lines in the bottom panel
Now I can sleep in peace...

Thanks myros

Good to hear Michael, thanks.
I was sure it was a bug in the repair yard ... just shows the interconnectedness of all things :)

Yep. Somehow that little scroll box not closing properly mucked up both of the other ship transfer panels. But only if it was used in a certain way!!!

Um, what happened? I thought this issue had been tracked down and fixed?
Hotfix applied and the problem continues EVERYTIME the base repair function is opened up? Come on guys, it's not like it's hard to duplicate. Was getting real tired of having to reload constantly to get the proper displays back.

EDIT: I just noticed your 'work-around' in another post. Just a quick correction - it works if you use the air or troop icons and then back out, but not the ship one. Maybe that's because I was using Pearl as the test case though and it has 100s of ships in the list ... /shrug.

Still a pain, but at least it doesnt require a reload ;)

We believe that we have found the problem - at least the change makes it work even if we can't really explain why at the moment.
