I would appreciate a little snow next week, but it does not look promising at this point. There is plenty of snow in the mountains around here though.

Right now it is a beautiful 55F, calm and not a cloud in the sky. Problem is that is how it normally is; rain or snow in this valley is a real treat (except for the related traffic problems).

Well as long as you fit the regulations you can have a Shotgun License for shooting game.Such weapons as you have in the US will get you locked up as a Terrorist!Kings Lynn is located on the South Eastern corner of the Wash in East Anglia,it also has the closest Railway station to Sandringham House which is one of the Queens small Detatched Estates.Its been tradition for the Royal Family to spend Christmas and New Year at Sandringham.I suppose they have to get away from it all from time to time.There used to be a Railway Station in Wolferton,just across the road from Sandringham untill a certain Dr Beeching shut the railway line down.About 10 years ago it was on the market for £75,000,recently its been up for sale and they wanted £1.7 million!Google sandringham and wolferton.x

I did google Sandringham and it looks like a beautiful place. King's Lynn looks pretty neat also. What is the reasoning behind the name? King's Lynn that is....

Status: offline 		Well maybe we should start a new thread then.I also am a sucker for history.When i left the Royal Navy,i ended up working at Westminster Abbey.My respnsabilities were to look after the Chapter House and Undercroft Museum and Pyx Chamber.My "office" door was authenticate to be over 1000 years old,not just the wood but when it first was made into a door,it also had (and does today) been covered in Human Skin.Thw skin belonged to a One,Richard De Podlicote(some spellings vary)who was a merchant who took a liking to King Edward the firsts Treasury that had been stored in the Pyx Chamber for safekeeping.Ultimately most of the loot was recovered and a dozen or so were hanged, including Richard, but most escaped the executioner: Richard gave a false confession that he was the only one involved, saving the clergy—his inside accomplices—from being condemned. After his hanging, his body was flayed, and the skin nailed to the door of my office in Westminster Abbey

Status: offline 		Yes the skin is still there small pieces tucked away behind the hinge plates.It has been authenticated by the Open University a few years back.Some times when i was working late and alone the Abbey did become "different",one night myself and one of the Dean Vergers played some Gregorian Chants on a tape player on the High Altar,it was amazing!It was like going back many hundreds of years,if there is a God,then i am sure that night i felt him! 

As for Moutain Ranges,indeed we do have them in UK,however they are not very high Mountains,despite this they are amongst the most beautiful areas in UK.Scotland has the Major share of them although Wales and Ireland have ranges.Where i live and we had all that snow(even more today and more forcast for tonight)we are very close to Sea Level,some parts of the Counties around us are actually BELOW sealevel,so you see elevation doesnt really make much difference if you get snow or not.Granted higher elevations are more prone to Snow etc but not exclusively.

I was rather trying to dig for the info whether it's possible to slide down some "elevation", be it on a sled, skis, or on a plastic bag under your butt. So? Oh, and I'm not aiming for cliffs there, eheh, but suitable e-le-va-tions. !

Status: offline 		Good Guy,yes there are some Ski resorts in UK,but not on par with Germany,i have tobogganed down the Harz mountains many times and also the Teutoburger Wald.There are plenty of hills to hurl yourself down on a dustbin lid if you want.You could even do this if you are mad enough.

Status: offline 		Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeehaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!Its SNOWING!Been piling it down for the last 2 hours!it was at least 8 to 9 inches deep this afternoon and i think about ANOTHER 2 to 3 inches has fallen,the weather says its going to snow untill around 0300 as well!Thank goodness i have a Land Rover!Ill post some pics tomorrow!
