H&HS;

Discovered that starting IX AF airfields are changing to 83rd, 84th, & 85th Group.

Opps...

'43 long campaign,
Stony Cross 214,275 to No. 84
Godfield 336,229 to No. 84
Lymington 211, 292 to No. 84
Beaulieu 222, 287 to No. 83
Chilbolten 223, 265 to No. 85

I think there might be more.
Might this be a WAD?

could be two different reasons

which both are WAD

did you have aircraft on these fields ?

HS;

Openning days of the '43 campaign, using the Beta.

No aircraft on the fields, since IX AF has no organic fighter units yet.
I've been restarting games to find the "perfect" first turn unit relocations.

This would be "neat", if the airfields switch back when the IX AF fighters begin to appear.

TS

BTW: In OOB, 604 squadron shows as 85 Group and LNS. Unit starts based at Catterick 321, 54
In List Air Units it displays as 85 Group.

will look into it, that does not sound right

604 has been placed on delay until May 3rd 44, when it joins 85 group, both 43 and 44 campaign, flying Mossie XIII's

the data for LNS looks to of gotten jambled somehow, need to rework the whole group it looks like

When I start the game the hour glass icon appears next to my pointer. It does not go away. I ran a few turns of the introductory scenario and it remains there. The game seems to run fine but that hour glass will not go away. What is the problem? I downloaded the game from the website. Could it be download issue?

just a old Gary/Keith programming thing, nothing is wrong, it just shows up

there are work arounds to kill it off (go to save screen and make a save)

or did you get the beta patch ?

that has a fix in it for that

I didnt read through all the posts so sorry if this is already in here.

When running in Windowed Mode, the border of the window is not fully open. I can not access the "Quit Game" button on the bottom right corner of the screen. This is when the window is at the Full Screen mode.

Later,
KayBay

? The window is 1024 * 768 and can't be changed. If your screen is also 768 high, you'll miss the whole bottom end, as the border takes up around 30 - 40 pixels.

You have 2 options, increase your screen res, or don't use Windowed mode. Alt-Tab is fixed in 95% of cases with the beta patch, so it's not such a problem any more.

H & HS;

BtR-B, '43 campaign.
Noticed tonight that units with "0" zero ready aircraft are showing up in the pick unit lists, (lead & add), when plotting.

My style;
1) move all units to be moved this turn,
2) change aircraft types, then
3) plot missions.

TS

BTW: This may have been happening all along, I haven't been paying attention.

Are they Blue?

Do they turn red when you select them?

Is the second mission more than 6 hours after the first?

If the answer is "yes" to all, then they have 2 missions plotted for the day.

If the answer is "no" to any, then please give some specifics - I tried your steps and could not duplicate.

I have seen this also

move a unit to a new field, when picking unit to lead a raid, units with 0 ready will show up, when you pick a raid, they do not show up for the mission to pick

(didn't add it to the list yet, trying to let you get some of the other stuff first :)

H & HS;

BtR-Beta, '43 campaign, Turn 2

Changed 18 Burma Sqdn/Med AF to Bost IIIa,
Plot Bombing Mission, Palizzi AF 950,1345
Pick Lead Unit
18 Burma Sqdn, Boston IIIa 0 a/c ready shows white, in the display.

Moved 12 Grp/XII AF to Le Sers 591,1420,
Plot Bombing Mission, Cagliari Port 565,1221
Pick Lead Unit,
12 Group, B-25d, 0 a/c ready shows white, in the display.

Fighter units moved - 27, 71, 94 Sqdn/XII AF - show white in display with 2 a/c in display.
Fighter unit changed - 81 Grp/XII AF - does not show.

I have not selected any of these units and run a turn -- to see what happens.

Anyone else noticed that whatever altitude you set a patrol to fly at in BtR, they all fly at 15 000?

Think I've found it. You have to change the altitude before you pick the air unit.

H & HS;

Found this the other day...

'43 Long Campaign

Assign a FB to a sweep, ie. 1/11 to Calias area.
Then click Pick Lead Unit, again, only the Spitfires are displayed.

The existing lead unit does not appear on the display. Therefore I can not change the lead.

WA: Cancel the mission, & replot.

okay, I was able to work it out

that is a odd one

would say, that it took extra code to get the FB to be able to be able to sweep, that not all parts were "linked" so, nothing was added to the code to change the lead

(nobody thought to look at that part of it)

I'm playing the Allies in BTR, playing the Big Week 7 turn game. When selecting targets around Pisa, Reggio Emilia or even further north, it plots the mission as if it is coming from the island of Corisica, even though all the bombers are based in southern Italy. This causes lots of problems figuring out fighter support, etc. Plus returning bomb missions keep flying over Rome and taking lots of flak damage. Am I doing something wrong?

That's WAD, doug... The game uses the closest attacker airfield as the default form-up point.

what you need to do is move the closest waypoint to somewhere closer to your desired form-up airfield.

Great. Here's another one, and this is new with the patch as I can no longer use my old method of detecting damaged airfields in friendly use. This was to highlight airfields and zoom out, revealing a blue outlined red or orange airfield.

Airfields with friendly air units no longer show damage at any zoom level. The only indication you get the airfield is damaged is from hovering cursor over it and reading detail.

But when you move out, you see the red. This is a big step backwards for accesing information and ease of play, I'm afraid.

I understand what you are trying to acheive, I'm just not sure what you want the game to do?

I think you're trying to show two masks at once. I can't do that.

Sorry, the screenies don't exactly show the comparison I intended. Before the patch, when you clicked 'show occupied airfields', at full zoom out you got an image of red/orange damaged airfield surrounded by blue. That was really useful. You could see what units would be grounded or dibilitated and you could move them out. You don't get that anymore, that's the issue. Not finding it I fiddled with the 'show damage' and other options and zoomed in to see if I'd missed something. Then I took the screenie.
