Okay, I know this sort of thing has been done to death but I couldn't resist. My apologies to Clement Moore and to all the AE team I didn't have room to mention. Or maybe I should apologize to the ones I did mention...

Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house
The only sound heard was the click of my mouse
The presents were under the tree in a heap
As I played one more turn of AE before sleep

The children were nestled all snug in their beds
As invasions of Fiji danced in my head
My wife in her robe was asleep in a chair
As I set all my search arcs with testing and care

When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter
I sprang from my seat to see what was the matter
Away to the window I flew like a flash
Tore open the shutter and threw up the sash

The moon on the breast of the cold rain-drenched lawn
Told there were hours to go before dawn
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear
But a C-47 with deployed landing gear

With a little old pilot, so lively and quick
I knew in a moment it must be Saint Nick
More rapid than Corsairs his ground crew deployed
And he whistled and shouted, not the least bit annoyed

"Now Bowen! Now Wilkerson! Now Andy and Termie!
On TheElf!Tom Label! JWE! Let us hurry!
To the wireless network! Break through firewall!
Now test away, test away, test away all!"

As top-heavy DDs before the hurricane fly
Lest they turn turtle, their hulls to the sky
So into my office the men they all flew
With a bag full of gear and some reference books too

And then in a twinkling I heard clear the noise
Of laptops at work with both cunning and poise
As I drew in my head and was turning around
In the office St Nicholas came with a bound

He was dressed as a pilot from his head to his foot
With a uniform tarnished by ashes and soot
A duffle of presents he had slung on his back
And he looked like a sapper, just opening his pack

His eyes how they twinkled! Just like a brass shell!
His cheeks were like roses, his nose like a bell!
His droll little mouth was drawn up like a bow
And the beard of his chin was as white as the snow

The stump of a pipe he held tight in his dentures
Made me think of MacArthur, before Truman's censures
He had a broad face and round little belly
Like a P-26, though not nearly so smelly

He was chubby and plump, not at all like TheElf
And I laughed when I saw him, in spite of myself!
And that's when the downloads began to arrive
As his crew now delived patches three, four, and five!

Santa spoke not a word but went straight to his work
Optimized my PC, then turned with a jerk
And laying his finger aside of his nose
And giving a nod, up the chimney he rose!

He sprang to his plane, to his team gave a whistle
And away they all flew like a new guided missile
But I heard him exclaim, 'ere they buttoned up tight
"Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good-night!"

Are you sure that wasn't a Dakota that Santa came in?

There is that roundel...and then there are the fine enameled ash trays. Of ourse, it was snowy.

Merry Christmas

Well if it's the turn before Christmas, it can't be a C-47 or a Dakota as they don't arrive till 43

Well done. Merry Xmas. Or Festivus, if you prefer.

I am pretty sure this is the Mk IV Santa. The Corsairs are already here.

Bravo!

Query: When you wrote "Saint Nick", you really meant "Saint Nik", right?

Enjoyed this, Cuttlefish.  What's next, "The Midnight Patrol of Ranger Edson"?
