Hi Joseph, Per, and any other brothers about, getting over Christmas dinner. I am fulled right up to My sides, the Pavlova with whipped cream just topped me right off. I can hardly see the laptop screen over My inflated belly!

Merry Christmas Joseph . Do you have any weather problems where you are (apart from the cold)? Most of the Swedish newspapers have some article about 2/3 of the U.S.A. having serious problems.

Hi Per, here is a post I did yesterday on Pavlova; it is basically made from egg whites, and icing sugar I think. But Mrs Divepac who is a Chef by trade makes a really good job of making them, and I must say that I make a really good job of eating them.

It's Christmas Day here now as it after midnight on the eve. Mrs Divepac baked the traditional Kiwi/Aussie desert tonight for tomorrow. It is called a Pavlova; it is basically a big sweet cake with a sugar crust, and a soft center. In New Zealand we serve it with whipped cream, but in Aussie they serve it in a bowl of Fosters. I personally like the Kiwi version with the cream, but normally wash it down with a glass of beer.

I have uploaded a photo of the moment that Mrs Divepac pulled the baked Pavlova from the oven. She was very pleased with Herself, as it hasn't slumped it the middle as most do.

And again Merry Christmas one and all.

Ah, yes I missed that post - sorry. Ok, now I know what it is. We call it "Mareng". I guess I would prefer it the Kiwi way as compared to the Aussie way, as in Sweden, we usually serve it with ice cream, whipped cream, diced bananas and a little sprinkle of chocolate sauce.

No it's because I am boring. Just sent you an e-mail Big Boy. How are you?

Surviving. Just about. Breast-feeding rocks, I don't have to get up in the middle of the night. On the other hand, it's difficult when CLare's out and the wee man gets hungry

Does Mrs. Dixie know about pumping breast milk for those occasions when she is unable to attend to the baby's immediate needs? My wife did this for both of our kids and we were able to bottle sufficient...ahem...production to provide for several 4oz bags/ day. After a bit (don't want to confuse wee one with a bottle just yet), you, Mr. Dixie, could use one of these bottles to get one of these midnight feedings and let your wife sleep in a bit.

We used the excess production to provide pre-filled bottles for the nanny and avoid reliance on formula when the wife Mk1 returned to work.

Of course, training in bovine production systems did come in handy for planning out milk production.

Guys, much as I like the fact that we have our first official Thread baby, there are somethings that should not be discussed in the open...

Naughty thoughts "T"... naughty...

BTW, my friend used to call his wife (when she had their son) "my little cow"... we told him that is not very appropriate but he didn't listen... they divorced after few years...

BTW, how high are those Southern Alps near you? Above 1 km?

Hi Leo, the southern end of the Southern Alps are those mountains that you can see at the head of the lake. Mt Aspiring which is on the far left in this picture is 3,033 metres high, and the third highest mountain in NZ.

Very pretty area DivePac. So that is close to where you live ?

Only about 200metres directly of the bow of the Kayak Stu.

Great pictures Dez!

Fantastic looking nature!

Merry Christmas to one and all.

It's an ugly day in North Carolina, weatherwise. Freezing rain on top of melting snow. Things can only get worse when we get to the mother-in-laws place later today to sample her traditional holiday meal: burnt yams, cold brocolli and some form of overcooked fowl. Yummy!

Hi Guys hope everybody is having a good day.

Leo; I honestly don't notice the scenery until I've been out of country for a while, and come home. We just take it for granted, also your area has a really beautiful coastline (saw it from 22'000 feet once).

Per; I was only kidding about the Aussie's having there Pavlova with Fosters beer, and we also have our 'Pav' with fresh strawberry's and raspberry's.

Fooled me there - but then nothing would surprise me concerning Aussies & their Fosters
