The summit where Tamatea the man, with the big knees, the climber of the mountains, and the land-swallower who travelled about, played his flute to the one he loved.

Morning Guys... Anybody seen District-9, any good, is it worth buying?

It's a weird film. The first half grinds along sooooo slowly, I almost left the theatre and the second half is over so fast, you'd better not blink. It's not bad, but it's too strange to be really good.

It has a different feel than many American movies. IIRC, the movie was shot on site in South Africa with largerly South African developmental staff and actors. In that sense, it has a 'foreign' sci fi feel to it. Outside of that, it was at times disturbingly violent (more blown up people than any movie in recent memory), but well told. It's a pretty good movie that is probably worth a RENTAL before you buy, IMO.

People were falling over themselves to praise the book, and I found it open-my-own-wrists-with-my-teeth-boring.

I thought the concept was intriguing in a way that one might find Monty Python intriguing. Then the "story" got to the "plot development" I lost interest completely. The only reason I finished the book is because it bugs me to no end to leave a book unfinished (call it neurotic, if you must).

Neurotic!
