Guys, like each year, i am preparing the summarie (don't find another word) of the activity of our public service.
Should be ready 4th of january

I had troubles having several answers by informatic system (Business Object for those who know; trouble in the feeding of the date base: not my work)
I asked informatic service to give a look at it 2 months ago; then 1 months ago, and asking my officer to give weight to this task.
Then 15 days ago i asked once more, and with the weight of my officer and the Colonel just upper of him (to give more weight).
Today, still no answer from informatic service .

How could i give my summarie on time if these guys don't do their jobs ????

Yep, thats sounds like IT. Glad to see it transcends all cultural boundaries.

Yes, thank you Yuri, i am glad too
(these smiley are obviously not against you, rather against IT and the IT service)

Good morning Guys... what does 'Tithe' mean please?

It's our reference to tithing, or donating 10% of one's income to the church of choice. We generally make at least 10% of our posts in THE THREAD!!!

Damn, i did learn that donating to the church was a "privilege" that our Revolution did abolish....was i wrong ?

And you're further east than where I live....

And before the Americans chime in, they're further west from where I live. We've got the Greenwich Meridian, where 0 degrees longitude is, so we're in the middle

The empire is gone, so it dont count.

So bad for the time when France ruled the geography with the Paris Meridian
(by Paris i am talking of the town, not the brainless blonde of course).

Incidentally as anyone ever meet one of these 'Dreaded all knowing Them' that tell me what is best for me, and what I should buy?

It turns out I married one of "Them"...

At least you always get infallible advice.

I thought they were all like that. Do you mean you met some that are not ?

So, a particularly large and ill seagull took a dump on my bathroom window during the night. My normal response to this would be two-fold:

- Curse all seagulls.

- Twist the window around its longitudinal axis until the outside became the inside and remove the long streak of ****.

However, the mechanism that allows the second part to be accomplished appears to be frozen, thus forcing me to invest extra heavily in the first part.

****ing airborne pestilence factories. What the **** do we need ****ing seagulls for, anyway?

advice to all of good will:

never ever give help to a stupid a......, making a part of work that is not of your responsability.
As soon as they can, they stab you in the back, pretending you didn't made things right.

1) I get my Dilbert fix through the internet, although I've got a couple of books as well.
2) Good will is appreciated, for as long as it takes for the other person's problems to be solved...
3) Nope, they're a hardy species capable of thriving wherever there are cock ups
4) Don't give up on everyone old boy. Some of us are decent.

After a frustrating 3/4 of a year searching for a new job, I decided to return to night school on recommendation of my old A+/NET+ instructor. This fall i completed an introduction to programming which while it doesn't by any stretch make "me" a programmer i can actually recognize and understand some of the jibberish Don and JWE and Michaelm occasionally post. The class was part of a certificate program at the college i go to and I was now only 1 class from completing it. The class itself is a cert program so i was basically double cert'ing....(one from the college...one from Comp-TIA for the Server+ class, which i'd wanted to take anyway along (eventually) with Security+)

Yesterday i got a call from the college informing me that the Server class was cancelled due to low enrollment (A whopping TWO people including myself enrolled) So i'm basically screwed at this point. I wasted a half grand on the programming class which by itself is useless (it was simply one of the four classes needed for the college cert in Networking) I don't know if/when the college will attempt to offer Server+ again which leaves me with two choices:

1) wait

2) get it somewhere else and forfeit the college cert in favor of the admittedly more valuable Comp-Tia cert. (but having both was the goal....i need all the perks i can get in this post-recession.

So already, even before 2010 has begun my job hunt has taken a serious hit. I was counting on these two Certs to bolster my resume and now i'm stuck.

yeah...a perfect cap to an already crappy post holiday Monday. I am seriously bummed. I was looking forward to the class. I suffered through the programming class and now it appears to be for nothing. (when the instructor asked me why i was there, he blinked....his class is usually part of the Software Testing cert) bugger!
