Yep. Just finished the last of the stuff I need to do before tomorrow, by electronically informing the people who send me money every month for doing nothing that I'll now be getting money from somebody else for doing something.

It'll be interesting to see how much of a mess they've made of my department...

Hey T

Congratulations!

Very best regards

Carl

Can we all get some of this money for doing nothing??

Well... you would have to live in Denmark... the social state...

Yeah, i agree.
and you should be allowed to stay in bed when there are 4 inches of snow on the roads, and that the cleaning crew didn't did their job; and when the IT mens didn't repair your database; and when it's cold; and when you're grimpin'; and when thing go wrong

Sounds like a good day to take some sick leave, Eric. Kristian, however, has to go face the music at the new (old) job...

Hello Brad.
Unfortunately, i can't afford to stay at home, there are the annual summaries at job, and i have to make it ready for "yesterday" (usual silly joke of our differents officers).
So i had to face this snow.
And how could you explain that in a town near the moutains, in winter, the public services are not prepared to clean the road ?? Damn , i work in a public service that would not allow such things !
i hope things are OK for Kristian

Hi all,

Guys, anyone watched new SciFi movie Avatar yet?

We are planning to go soon (today we will see Sherlock Holmes) but we still didn't decide whether to see normal (i.e. 2D) or new 3D version...

Have you watched any 3D movie yet using plastic glasses (we haven't)?

Leo, do you remenber of the oooold movie called something like "the creature of the black lake" ? Movie of the sixties ? It was the first in 3D with use of glasses. The 3D was awful. But i don't know if i should see Avatar in 3D or 2D (it would be a waste not to see it in 3D, no ?) .
And i don't know when i could find time....

Watched it in 2D It was so-so. Evil corporation, good tree-hugging natives, blah blah. Some good action sequences though and the CGI is superb.

I liked Sherlock Holmes more.

Haven't seen it, Leo, but I did see a recent 3D movie with the plastic glasses. My son and I went and saw U23D around a year ago, and it was fantastic. Concert was great, of course, but the 3D glasses and effects were great as well. I imagine the 3D effects would be at least that good for Avatar, so I would only go see it in 3D.

We need to finish watching the "lord of the Rings" (extended DVDs) trilogy as well... we are 1/5 into "Return of the King"... it is really great picture on 42" plasma...

Monday Monday, sometimes it just turns out that way
Oh Monday morning, you gave me no warning of what was to be
Oh Monday Monday, how yould cou leave and not take me.

Every other day of the week is fine, yeah
But whenever Monday comes, but whenever Monday comes

Well, first day on the job is done. Everything had essentially collapsed shortly after I left. They'd had TEN people in and out of the place in the past three and a half months to supposedly do my job.

It was nearly embarrassing to talk to my boss. Almost immediately she mentioned that they were almost certainly going to make the position permanent, and how did I feel about staying? Then she back-pedaled and said that I should think about it for a month or two. I said I would...

Never had an employer by the short and curlies before...
