The manual says when sys damage + Float damage is greater than 50 CV air operations cease. But you can still set missions, just not transfer planes.

It would be nice to have a clear indication of this critical status.

I agree. Something on the info dialog for each individual carrier that says unequivocally "flight deck in/out of service" would be a very useful and appreciated addition.

Hi, there is something that tells you clearly if a carrier (or AV/CS) can operate aircraft. System damage plus floatation damage.
Is it unclear what 0ver 50 is? You can set missions but the planes will not fly them. You have to be in port to transfer aircraft.

Now floation damage in port can repair up to 20 in one turn so you need to keep an eye on damaged birdfarms. Systems damage over 30 for me means return to Japan.PH (20 if I have a lot of CV) Still it is best to get floatation damage as low as possible before sending back to Truk or Noumea (so they do not sink on the way)

When a CV is returned to Japan/PH the aircraft go back into the pool but the pilots stay with the CV airgroups (they rebuild when carrier returns to map)

Lets not clutter up the screens with redundant data. Remember 50 damage of any flavour. It's the first thing you'll see when you list ships in port or TF or click on a ship. (well ok it's the first thing I look at)

My agreement with the request was based on the initial poster's assertion, unless I've misunderstood, that one of his flight decks was still partially operational even when the required amount of damage was exceeded. I haven't tested this for myself (don't like getting my carriers beat up that much).

We all can add.
However in the interest of good design and playability for all, ( not just Pac War Grognards who love reading rules) a critical game status such as this deserves special attention .

We all can add.

What a bold statement!:)

It would be a nice touch though if the CV's name was in red or something when you looked at the TF screen.
