Hi all,

Here is web camera picture (picture automatically updates) from our Metereologic service (few hundred meters from where I live and work - the camera is situated in old part of town dating to medieval times)...

Leo "Apollo11"

Is that where the vampires live? Er, unlive?

It looks like a nice area. It's unusual to see a medieval crane of that size still surviving though

Hi all,

First emergency as a parent   Joshua is up at the hospital in Oxford with a hernia, he's going to be operated on either tomorrow or Saturday.  Poor wee chap's been out of sorts all day and now Clare's upset because she didn't notice before I did.

Not sure what he's been lifting to give himself a hernia though...

Best wishes for Joshua Martin!

BTW, this is rather common... babies strain themselves with crying and develop hernia... nothing unusual here...

The crane is in downtown area... the old (medieval) part of town is on a hill...

Cool shot, Leo! Those two long, green areas almost look like they are castle gardens or something.

Thanks brother "Mynok"!

Those are public parks... I spend my childhood in all of them...

It's done. One week of dedicated work, and the slovenliness of three months has been fixed.

I talked to my boss today, and the decision as to whether or not the position will be made permanent will be taken in early to mid-February. It sounds like they've learned their lesson, and it's going to happen.

I asked her if I could expect to be number one in line to be offered the job, and she said yes (obviously). We'll talk about pay then.

Cool beans! Sounds like you won't need to bring the thumbscrews and cat-o-nine-tails to get a good salary, either. Pick one at the upper range of the job description and stick to it. They'll cave.

Seems pretty logical that wargamers like maps. It would be pretty counterproductive not to.

I used to draw little dioramas of battles on paper. Mostly WWII stuff with planes attacking a base or each other. I'm a plane guy, not a ship guy as you probably have all figured out by now.

Unless it's wooden ships. Now I dig those.

Heh....well, you know they are working on Close Action for the web.

And my money is on the US 74's. Nothing bounces iron like American oak.
