I don't think Memphis has gotten 4 feet of snow total, in the last 4 decades combined.


But I do remember 8 inches of ice/sleet accumulation during the big storm in '94. Took an entire year to get all the downed tree debris cleared out of the city.

Disagree. It is very clearly colored with the emotions of the time and a bit overly dramatic, but it was a different place and time for thoughts about the war then. I've really enjoyed 'Triumph of the Will' as a documentary too-fantastic cinematography and showmanship, but clearly about as propagandistic as it gets. There's some overlap between the two cinema genres, don't you think?

I have read everyone of Patrick O'Brians novels. Got me interested in the age of sail. I actually bought a few reference works just to try to understand the terminology better.

" The Ice Storm ". Yep that well and truly sucked. My parents were out of power for more than two weeks.

Snow melted here (it was 20+ cm of snow just 2 days ago = 8-9 inches)... it is raining for 24 hours straight... I am afraid that it might turn into ice rain...
