I live 15 minutes from the mountains.

I live fifteen minutes from Puget Sound, an hour from the ocean and an hour from the mountains. Best of both worlds...

I love your area of the country, bradfordkay...wish I could visit more often.

I enjoy hiking around Mt. Rainer and the the temperate rain forest on the coast. I hear the coffee is pretty good, too. (We probably don't need to reopen that subject!)

When I was ten I thought that High Point must be the coolest town - because that was where the King was from (okay, most of the news reporters in those days failed to mention that he was really from Randleman).

BTW: I am surprised that they let me live out here since I don't like coffee.

Well the King's son Kyle did live in High Point for awhile and Randleman is not far from High Point. He has a museum there that's a big tourist attraction. Actually there's a lot of NASCAR business in the area. Several teams operate out HP and some of the suppliers, decal trimmers and other support groups are here.

Well, a peek into the bizarre, twisted mind of JWE. A lyric lick from my most absolute favorite. Can you guess who it is? Hint, the backup musicians include:
Phil Collins
Jerry Garcia
Branford Marsalis
Pat Metheny
Bonnie Raitt

Yep. Brother Bruce. I knew you were wierd like me, Kelley.

That's one of the best damn songs, with Pat (Capn Fingers) Metheny stroken the Stratocaster, like only he can. Probably one of the best sessions ever recorded.

Ciao John

And then there's this one:

The song came and went
Like the times that we spent
Hiding out from the rain under the carnival tent
I laughed and she'd smile
It would last for awhile
You don't know what you got
Till you lose it all again

A cool evening dance
Listening to the bluegrass band
Takes the chill from the air till they play the last song
I'll do my time
Keeping you off my mind
But there's moments that I find
I'm not feeling so strong

Listen to the mandolin rain
Listen to the music on the lake
Listen to my heart break every time she runs away
Listen to the banjo wind
A sad song drifting low
Listen to the tears roll
Down my face as she turns to go

Sorry ya'll, but ran into a fellow from Gibson, who builds Pat Metheny's guitars and we got kinda, you know, drinkin, and stuff, and Bruce came up, and Bruce is just my favorite and I guess I got all maudlin. Bruce does that sometimes.

A piano and lyrics that evoke the soul.

Oops, not yet. So here we are, absolutely drunk and disorderly at 1 in the morning, and Rob the next door neighbor sends his daughter Janet over to settle us down. Yeah right. Mel was on her like flies on dead fish.

Did you know Bruce Hornsby did a hot blues duet with Bonnie Rait – Thing Called Love – where he traded rifs with her on the guitar and him on an accordian? Woof !
