I’m having difficulty understanding the reconnaissance setting

I select a PBY squadron with 6 aircraft, I set to 100% and select “set on map” I select my search area and when I’m complete I get 6 - 10 degree arcs in blue and three in yellow, I cannot figure out what the three yellow arcs represent.

Also I read that you had to have WiTP loaded on your machine before you load AE – I loaded AE on my laptop but didn’t bother to load WiTP –It appears that AE is running fine m I missing something here other than all the WiTP scenarios

THANKS

I believe that one represents search area flown during AM missions and the other during the PM mission phase.

Yes Blue = morning search, and Green = afternoon search. Also I wouldn't set a search group on 100%, maybe 70% at the most, or they will wear-down quickly.

AE is a stand alone installation.

The Interface Addendum in the documents folder explains the search interface, or you can look at one of the simple video tutorials http://sites.google.com/site/n01487477 on search patrols.

[edit] just put it up again in high res, plus a little on ASW

I've never run a squadron at 100% search before. I find it interesting that only 50% of the aircraft fly in the PM phase. It looks like running them at higher than 70% is a waste of effort.

THANKS ALL

That makes sense - Yea I know about the 100% search, I'm still walking around the game feeling my way and seeing what's changed from WiTP

Again Thanks

The OP never indicated that he set for 120 degrees...he may have set for 90 degrees.
