Hi guys, been a while since I last posted on tracker and it only keeps getting better. Still got my problem with java running out of space occasionally but I think thats more my machine. There is one small problem witth he new version and that is as the Allies I can see Japanese R&D items in the alerts. I now know my opponents going to get the Peggy in 9/44.

Hi Damian and Floyd, a small calculation error:

Note that the Res +/- days column is calculated correctly.

    Thanks Bliztk,
I'm sure Floyd will pop his head in here sometime and consider the request...

I do have a concern that we are displaying too much information on the screens already, especially in the areas of production (air, land, sea) and without being able to work out preferences and save them ... I'm wondering if I'm giving information overload to some of you ...

Should I continue the way I'm going, or try to reduce the amount of columns / information ?

I like it with as much information displayed as possible. We can adjust columns if need be.

Might be a really dumb question, as usual

Does Tracker work with WPO if I change the directory addresses???

Jeff, I doubt it very much, the file is probably a similar format to WITP, but if new data points have been used or the data has changed then it will probably fail or cause many errors, but let us know ... I'd be interested to see, and maybe it has limited functionality. Use a fresh install and try to load a turn.

I don't own the game and I doubt Floyd does either, so Is WPO just a big mod or am I selling it way short?

    Cheers

    Damian,

Thanks, I'll give it a bash.

I think its a bit more than a mod, I know some changes were made but I think these appeared in later WITP patches.

    I'll keep you posted.

    Jeff

    Hi Floyd,

could you please explain how the assault strength from LCUs is calculated.
    Thank you for your effort.

I hope you will be able to support AE in the future.

    Marc -

The Assault Strength is calculated based on the number of undisrupted squads, AFVs and engineers, adjusted by a factor of the fatigue level. I don't have it spelled out, but I can send you the chunk of code if you can read Java...

As for AE support, please be patient.

    Hi Floyd,

that would be of great help to me if you could send me the code.

I hope for the best regarding AE support.

    Floyd,
send my initial AV code - that will take him a year to work out what I was trying to achieve Just kidding of course, can I ask Marc, why the interest ? Just trying to understand ?

    Hi Damian,

I'm planing my war in Access. It's in my opinion at the moment the most flexible way of filtering data and it is quite useful to have the assault value
Your tool is excellent too but I'm missing the possibility to enter user data. Something like "operation" or "remark". (I requested something like that in the past).
It is in my opinion most helpful to show for example all units that or planned for operation Malaya, DEI, ... .

By the way. Will it be possible with the AE Version of tracker to get the data via the CSV export interface?

    to Floyd:
    Thank you for the code.
It was hard enough for me to decrypt it, because you forgot to add some remarks to your script
But finally I got it after about 3 hours and cross checking with WitP.
I have by the way no Java knowledge but my VBS and PHP experience did help me.

Thank you both a please keep up to good work.

    Marc

    Marc,
You mean all the data to be exported to CSV ? Yes we intend on doing that incrementally ... And yes we will eventually give room for notes on all the major area's ... As for AE, good news will hopefully come to those that are patient. Can I suggest that you look at OpenOffice, there is already a direct link to HSQLDB and will make your work much easier, or does Access allow this now ? ...

http://www.matrixgames.com/forums/tm.asp?m=1774229&mpage=16&key=openoffice  for my tutorial ... you can also use this for Woo's decoder ...

    Any problems

    Damian,
I'm very patient. I waited 1,5 years for AE.
I looked already at OpenOffice. If I remember correctly I had problems adding another table for my additional information. The next problem is that I have experience with VBA in Excel and Access but not with OpenOffice. But perhaps it is the best method getting the needed data via exporting. I will give it a try. Anyway, thank you for the hint.
I looked in the past for HSQLDB support for Access and think your are right. It seems to be not existent.

    Regarding future notes:
It would be nice to have a remark field for free text, a field for something to group units (for example operations) and finally perhaps a field where I can enter the planed destination for the unit (I don't always like to use the WitP function because of SIGINT )
These fields are most helpful for LCUs, aircraft units and ships.

    Marc

Think I might dust off some old code and see if Floyd wants to iron out the last bugs before we can set sail, never to return into the wide blue yonder of WITP-AE and beyond

Sorry to bother you guys out there in the wide blue yonder, ;P but I have a sort of a problem. I dl the latest version of tracker, but when I try to run it, all I get is bunch of mambo jumbo about unknown sources and native methods and classes not found. I have the latest version of java if that means anything to you. Its probably some stupid mistake on my part, but I could use some help.

EDIT: Like I said, stupid mistake on my part. RTFM!

    Continue enjoying the yonder

    BBW,
can you post a screen shot of the dos screen for me please...you aren't using Tracker-AE by any chance, are you ?

I'm heading to bed pretty soon, but I hope I can clear this up quickly, it is pretty rare for Tracker for witp to fail.

[edit]No probs BBW ... have a good day.

Hey no worries about updates I'm sure you've moved on to other things and the tracker is great as it is. I had this game sitting around on my shelf for a year before dusting it off about a month ago and finally learning it as opposed to the first time I tried playing it when I bought it. Tracker just makes it all that better now so again thanks a bunch

The delta numbers indicate that the unit "added" (positive #) or "lost" (negative #) devices comparing the currently loaded turn and the previously loaded turn.
