That's probably because of 2 reasons:

1.  This was intended for vets of the game who complain it's always too easy.
2.  The people setting the difficulty have played the same maps hundreds of times.

Status: offline 		I've tried the first Poland scenario 3 times on intermediate and have taken the southern objective, but not the northern.

I switched around and played as Poland and beat the AI worse than it beat me, so at least I'm not completely worthless.

I loved these when they first came out...so simple...a great way to kill a few hours.

Now has anyone else tried Kaiser General???  Was a great idea....a bit clunky and slow...but that was WWI...it even has Zeppelins!!

Red, seems to me you are jumping the gun, without understanding battle-mechanics well, like initiative and other aspects. You should hit L after each combat at first so you get a feel on how the modifiers stack up.

I did run through that scenario just now, played on the hardest AI setting, and finished in just 9 turns with 0 losses. I have supplied the combat-log here for your re-player if you wish.

Others no doubt can do better, as I made one really silly move by only realizing too late that one of my tanks was out of Ammo at one point. And then I took elite replacements on an artillery unit on turn #8, but didn't expect at the time the Allies would allow me to exploit a win a turn earlier. Even then that issue was dubious but I felt I may really need that artillery piece. Turns out I apparently didn't.

My only complaint about the original was how air units were treated, flying around for days on end. I would prefer more realistic air missions from airbases, out and back. The rest is pure fun.

This is interesting.

Couldn't the guy just have patched the game, so that he'd have a fig-leaf to hide behind? Then he could claim that the "update" was intended for folks who already owned PG. As is, it appears as though he's just asking for trouble.

Without any permission, he has basically assumed that he has the right to do this based on the "abandonware" perspective and thus effectively distribute it for free despite past copyrights. He can promote this on his own site, but not here. Locking this up.
