For air operations, does the base need to have fuel? Does the base need to have supplies?

i'm learning the game too, so I foundout:

fuel is for ships and heavy Industy production

Supplies requested also represent the fuel for aircraft and ground unit (vehicule)

For ground unit, supplies requested is shown...

But I don't know how much supplies requested the airplane need... cause it's not shown

Someone know???

edit: please Damain

Tatoune,
it depends on the mission and type of plane(load). So a LB, will use more supplies than a fighter ... I don't have the exact calculation for this right now, but I'll find it and post it later ...

Have a good weekend

Level bombers expend supplies at the rate of load/1000.

Good to know

So for a b17e: 500lb X 8 = 4000 / 1000 = 4 supplies ?
I'm I correct?

And that is a start I guess

Briefly, a base must have supply equal to it's Supplies Required level for airplanes at the base to function at maximum efficiency. Level bombers require the base to have double the Supplies Required level.
All planes other than level bombers flying an Offensive Misson, and planes flying an Escort mission, expend one supply point per plane per Mission.
Level bombers flying an Offensive Mission expend supplies equal to their Maximum Load divided by 1000 per Mission.
All planes flying Missions other than Offensive or Escort (e.g. Search, CAP,etc) expend 1/3 of a supply point per plane per Mission.

There is more information in the manual, page 252.

Hope this helps.

Per plane.  So if it is a 12 plane squadron, that would be 48 supplies to fly that offensive mission.

Other planes generally consume 1 supply point per plane per mission.  IIRC, CAP and patrol missions only consume 1/3 of a supply point, but you can check that up in the manual.

There again someone beats me whilst I am composing and posting my response. Do I still get a silver medal?

Does the 2 X supply criteria apply to level bombers flying non-offensive missions? If not, are they subject to the one-half X supply benchmark?  If so, do they still use supply at the max load div 1000 rate? For example, what would be the supply level required and how much supply would be used by a PB4Y on a search mission?

Also, is ASW considered an offensive mission?  Page 252 is a bit sketchy.
