Hi everybody,

As a great fan of old style boargames, i'm working on a graphical mode for the game. The objective is to make me feel like playing good old boargames (such "World in Flames" or "Third Reich") on my computer. This is for now a work in progress, but the finished mod well be available soon...

some exemples :

German armored division tech level 3

German armored division tech level 4

German motorized corps tech level 3

Polish armored division tech level 1

German infantry division tech level 4

French armored corps tech level 2

French motorized corps tech level 3

French armored division tech level 1

French tactical bomber tech level 3

My work is based on the EXCELLENT job doing by Volcano with the Volcano's Mods (for the "HPS series" available on Volcano mods).

Each nation (even the minor) have a different colour. For each nation there is different drawing between Corps and Division for each tech level and for all type of counter (infantry, armor, motorized, fighter, tactical and strategic bombers...). The tech level is indicated by the number in the yellow ring.

beautifull ( "ho la la , dieu que c'est beau !! " , en francais dans le texte )

can I make 2-3 remarks ?

I would prefer to have the same colors between div and corps and I like the "classic" NATO symbols XX and XXX instead of the complete words ...
another one : could you try a version fully filled in color, instead of the white horizontal part ?
and the size seems too large , no ?

What kind of counter do you prefer ?

 without blank plate

 ala "Panzer Blitz"

 with blank

 with darker color for corps (and lighter for division) and complete text


Let me know.

if there is a majority of people for a specific style, i can redo this (ther is a huge number of counter to made).

For moment i'm almost finished for all nations with the last kind of counter, but because i'm working with multiple layers on Photoshop it's relatively easy to made another style.

I think the combination of dark/light color makes it much easier on the eyes.

hey damastabango , S35 counters were not included in PzBlitz, neither in PzLeader , but included in an add-on of "the general" !!
for my part , I prefer your first proposition , and with no colour difference between corps and divs
well, you are the chief stylist ... do your best

No, congratulations for YOUR job, You have made a real great game because i think you developed it as such boardgame geeks like me can mod it easely.
It's a very great idea to code everything in .csv files and .png files.
The only thing missing for me it's a map editor and a scenario editor and this game will be a dream...

I'm very interresting by the sequel you're developping (the pacific theatre of operation). I hope you will create a third world war game (NATO vs Warsaw Pact in the eighties) with this engine.
That will be a must.

P.S. (1) : I don't want to be offensive against Poland in my last post (i think you're maybe polish). It's just i don't see how Poland can resit to Germany more than few turns in this game

P.S. (2) : sorry for my poor english, its not my native language.

I have held Poland against the AI nearly till March 1940. The Germans can be distracted, and they do not do well on establishing a siege of Warsaw. If you can just get by the first rush it can be done.

In brown is the generics counter in case the tec level of the nation be higher than i mean. All nations are not completed but i think everything goes good for friday this week.

The counters are beautiful. I prefer the 1st choice from the post about which choice. No white bar, and nato designation of division and corps. I will enjoy whichever you go with though. Thanks for doing this counter mod.
