Ah. The well-known USN "cast iron condom" effect.

So, c'mon, Yuri, we're not gonna beg ya - which series of books you talkin' about?

David Weber's Honorverse.

Granted, I know nothing about the company making it, but they appear to have the author's blessing, and knowing how particular he is about his product, I think they'll do good by him.

Apparently, they are approaching beta at this time.

ADD: This paragraph caught my eye.

quote:

The HTG world emphasizes clever play and sound strategy. It does not reward players for the mere quantity of time they spend online. In response to the huge number of thirty and forty-somethings who have busy lives but would actually like to play a good strategy game, HTG is especially designed so that it does not feel like a second job. Players will be able to dig as deep as they like into ship design, battle tactics, overall strategy, economic management, and interstellar diplomacy, but they will also have the option of delegating as much as they want to their “cabinet.” In this way, players will have the flexibility to spend as much or as little time in the game universe as they wish, and still have a large impact on the game. There’s no “farming” in this game.

Hey, it was a legitimate thread start. I'm hoping for honest dialogue and information. It's not intended as a bait thread, Mynok and it would be too bad if it devolves into that.

Plus, everyone knows that the Bismarck was scuttled.

I dunno, chick'n'bone, it looks pretty suicidal to me.

Bah! Latest historical scholarship reveals that the Bismarck was hit in her steering gear by a limpet mine placed by an Anglican suicidal fanatic who rode a Stringbag torpedo to the stern of the ship, did his dirty deed, then infiltrated his way into the ship's mess, where he laced the Fleet Admiral's dinner with ultra-enhanced, pub-dinner bangers. After consuming said bangers, Lutjens proceeded to fart himself to death, taking the rest of the crew with him in the exuded poisonous cloud of British culinary delight, which shortly thereafter exploded after being ignited by the sparks from an otherwise ineffective torpedo from HMS Dorsetshire that scraped along the hull like the flint in a Bic lighter, sinking the Baden - I mean, Bismarck.

What could be plainer than that?

That's pretty cool. I bet Bruce will get a kick out of this one.

I have a video tape up in the attic somewhere with trains in the snow, including a bunch of massive snowblower trains. Very cool.
