ORIGINAL: Onime No Kyo David Weber's Honorverse. That's the best space opera I've ever read. Just finished (yesterday) reading the ARC of "Mission of Honor". Things are starting to come together / heating up at the same time Mission of Honor?!?! I thought that one wasnt out yet! Thats one's concurrent with Torch of Freedom, right? I just finished ToF recently and liked it very much. But I have to admit that I'm getting lost in all the background machinations. It used to me that Manpower were the evil guys, Erewhon were the untrustworthy, waffling guys, and the SL were just big and dumb. Now I dont even know with Maya getting involved, etc. But I bet HH's 8th Fleet would hand the Sollies their butts...as long as the ammo lasts anyway. BTW, did you notice that I havent had anyone to discuss it with? I noticed ... and you're right - Mission of Honor isn't out yet. I am, however, a long time customer of Baen Books and their partner Webscriptions. This means that I frequently get offers to buy an ARC (Advance Reader Copy - qoute from Webscriptions; "This is an unproofed manuscript and is guaranteed to be full of typos and error. It is pretty much raw from the authors word processor. But you get the entire ARC well in advance of even the WebScription release") It's the sequel to "At All Costs". At the same time, it meshes this storyline with the "Honor"-side of both the "Torch of Freedom" and "Storm from the Shadows" storylines. I won't comment on what happens - I wouldn't want to spoil your experience
