HI..two problems...one is that most of 2ATAF and 9th AF units disappear from the order of battle somewhere around Sept 44. I have looked in the unit and aircraft type list and they are just gone..Typhoons, P-47's, B-26's just disappear.

Secondly, is there a way to disable the mandatory targeting feature. My 8th AF was just assigned to Overlord from mid May through August of 44th. I checked some references, and the 8th was hitting targets in Germany heavy two weeks after D-Day. The same goes for Med Command and 12th AF being assigned to Avalanche the entire game. This makes targeting a single industry such as railroads tedious and time consuming..Thanks for your thoughts.

when the airfields in France began opening up, did you move 2nd Tac and IXth to France ? after a set date, all of the fields in England will change over

for mandatory, you need to knock out enough points, to allow your forces to be used freely again ?

(under set bomber, look at the Overlord target group and see how damaged it is, or from the target list, you can open the Overlord list and see what targets are damaged or not)

MED and 12th is going to be a Ruff one, for the most part, they will be locked in, the 15th will be locked into also, if the numbers get too high

other targets can become mandatory also (UFAC, UPEN, Vsite, VFAC)

there is a work around if you have to, plot a raid to a mandatory target, set the forces, and then just changed the target point (pain in the butt but works)

Sarge ..thanks for that..I went back and moved the units from an earlier save "play" Hopefully that will solve the problem. Funny, all of these years I never noticed the target list for Overload or Avalance. I usually dont bomb troops as a matter of play because they seem to reconstitute themselves quickly. I will pay more attention to them to free up the 8th.
