Progress is good.

Still building some scenarios and testing them.

Manual still needs to be written in full.

Working on it everyday!! Hang in there!

I'm suddenly unsure if the game extends through 1973 and the Yom Kippur War. If it does, then I'd certainly expect that Chinese Farm would be among the battles included.

The timeframe covers from 1948 through to 1985.

1973 is definitely included and a number of scenarios depicting the various Chinese Farm battles.

That is precisely what I am looking for, key battles that you, the customer, are expecting to find inside the series. Just to make sure I am covering a lot of bases with the initial release. I appreciate your input, thank you!

Hi Jason.

To be honest I'm not that into the wars of the middle east but I'm very open minded and still looking forward to release. Really I don't know any specifics on these so as all the major conflicts are included and provides a decent selection of scenarios I'm good. Plus I am very confident you will pick the right battles.

So....keep up the good work.

FWIW, I'm hoping for an AIW mod like the old school PB/PL mod. Quite a few good scenarios there.

Avalon Hill's Arab-Israeli Wars. Similar to the Panzer Blitz and Panzer Leader classics.

SOmebody did all the AH Arab/Israeli Wars scenarios for the original Divided Ground. THe Wargamer has them up.
I know they will not work with the revised OBBs for Modern Battles, but it should not be hard for somebody to convert them.

As for the absoulute battles, I would say it should include all the actions in the original Divided Ground in improved, more accurate versions.
And Don't ignore the 48 battles.

Impossible, no... hard, yes... very actually.

Working on a couple '48 scenarios right now actually!

Thanks for the information!

Wait....will we get some Soviet-Afghan War action? I have the HPS Squad Battles game but I would much prefer the JTCS scale and interface.

As part of Modern Wars: Volume II, yes, not Volume I.

You will see scenarios that cover a lot of relatively unknown or hardly represently conflicts.

Excitings times!

Alright, cool. Although I can't wait for Volume I, this Volume II sounds like it's going to be truly a sight to behold.

I know you hate this question, but any indication of release? Do you think we can have this out before Spring Break?

I'm not sure when Spring Break is, but I will say no, not yet.

Closer every day though. Thanks for being patient, it will be worth the wait!

Well, don't rush. Believe or not, I like the honesty. Hell, the longer you take = an even better product on release.

as for myself...I would like to see the Egyptian crossing of the Seuz in 73 as a battle. I was a senior in High School then, but I still remember it. For awahile it looked like the Egyptians were going to march straight to Tel Aviv.

I would also like to see anything involving the 1rst Air cav in Vietnam. maybe a hard core Iron Triangle set of battles.

Hi Jason,

Does the above mentioned time frame '48-'85 also mean that all the scenarios for Vol I of Modern Wars are within this time frame? Keep up the good work BTW on the Campaign Series overall.

That is correct.

As of this moment, I have scenarios that fall between 1948 to 1982.

There will be 50 scenarios for each Vietnam and the Middle East. So 100 in total.

I'm probably a little late to this thread but I just wanted to add that I hope there are some Dien Bien Phu scenarios or anything else related to the first Indochina War.

Great! Thanks Jason. Modern Wars is definitely a must-buy for me just based on how great JT: Campaign series was. Count me in as long as the starting price is under $60 for the game.

Is Modern Wars a new game or an expansion?  It seems this and the v1.05 patch are two different things, or what?  I'm looking forward to it, just confused and not finding a good post clarifying the release(s).
