So if you guys are all spam fans , any one here ever have Chamorro fried rice? Also called Chamorro-slam. Fried Spam is a crucial ingredient.

Fans? No...I've had fried spam but I long ago pretty much gave up eating stuff I didn't know where it came from.

I can tell you exactly where it came from. You might not want to know, but there is a known location for the origin of SPAM.

I spammed enough Friday to last me for a while.

You have an excuse, and it includes the word rye.

Isnt that Bobo's line?

I have no intention of taking over for bobo.....

Haven't seen him around much lately. I think he crawled aboard his beer tanker and cast off.

Yeah he's even got that brainwashed look about him. We need someone with Dixie's image manipulation skills to insert the necessary text baloon...

Yes. As you can see, my graphics skills are...shall we say lacking.

It's kind of a ultimate "fushion cooking for the Guamians. Something from every culture that's "touched " theirs. Portugese sausage and cubed Spam fried , white Japanese style rice, soy sauce , egg and what ever leftover vegtable you want to throw in (I like chopped green onions, edaname, and whatever I have left , often broccali or english peas). Fry it up and it makes a great breakfast , or side. Pretty much for that reason alone I keep spam around the house.

On a per capita basis, the Hawaiians eat 3-4x as much as the rest of us mere mortals. S'truth!

SPAM sushi is quite popular amongst Pacific islanders. I bought some in Hawaii a few years back. Didn't much care for the cold rice, cold spam, grease and seaweed combo myself, but whatever floats your boat.

The Red Sox!!! I'm offended by the entire American League and that designated hitter thing.

I'm offended by people trying to be inoffensive! That's why T and Mynok are my heros!

Its quite sad that I'm not on that list.

But not unfixable! You must work harder at it.

Its a goal.

Can't say's I have. When in PA, scrapple was quite popular in and around the Amish country where I lived / worked. It's pretty darn close to spam-albeit with a little more cartilage thrown in. Mmmm....cartilage.....

Yeah , I recall it from when I was stationed there in the 70's. My wife actively discourages me from ever bringing it home.

If everyone would green button the trolls, such discussions could probably be done.

It certainly does no one any good to ignore the ugly things in history....apparently Erik has learned that lesson.

History as a whole tends to be pretty ugly. I propose to ignore people who get ugly about history.

I just ignore ugly people!

He's still alive, so we can assume it was either at least a marginal success or he made up for it in some other inventive fashion.

Are you still being exiled to Nebraska, Steve (if I am remembering correctly). If so, they also have a SPAM factory in Fremont so you can get your SPAM nice and fresh.

That last post (on SPAM no less) got me a thrid star and rank of hero. Do I have any gravitas yet or do I have to go for 5 stars? If so, spamming on SPAM may be a good start.

I still don't know. My wife's promotion board just met, so We should hear something soon. (If she get's promoted , they'll change their orders as the STRATCOM is a Comanders billet. And send her whereever they need the most junior captain in the Navy JAG corps.) If she doesn't get promotted , and the odds are seriously against her , then we will be off to Offut AFB whenever they decide to ship us.

Fresh spam....now there's something to look forward to!

Cool! I'll bet the unit detail screen is really in-your-face.

It's still the same size as normal, but I can read it from about 8 feet away.

I'll be able to see your alien forces coming from a long way off, now.

And still not be able to do anything about them.

The funny thing is , the French could take those same ingredients , give them a pleasant sounding name and make them take good enough so that everybody shells out big bucks for it. We Americans give it an acronym sounding name , but it in a can and sell it cheap? What are we doing wrong?
