actually i have.....we have one Aussie/Kiwi style bar here.....and it was on the menu...so i tried. Trick is it has to be a very light spread because it is potent.

We had a Kiwi faculty member that had an affection for the stuff. I made the mistake of trying it...twice. Nope. I'm with AW1Steve on this one-it's pretty rancid.

Disturbingly, both.

My God... You blasphemers, degrading our sacred and spiritual toast spread!

I am shocked, and saddened by this affront to our national toast spread!

I've never tried it, but I support your right to put whatever foul goop on your toast you want.

Bruce! Welcome back. I assume you were sick as a dog...

Actually I was. I still have a slight cough and a slightly stopped up head.

Unfortunately my wife now has it as well

This is terrible, attack after attack on our National delicacy. This is on a par with calling your 'Grit's' (what ever they are), a pile of steaming-hot Alligator vomit!

The one and only time I head the stuff was at work. One of my co-workers back in the early 80's was from Australia. He said this stuff was the Australia version of peanut butter. They had just gotten back from a trip there and he brought some in. We tried it on crackers. Big mistake

See my post above.

By the way I really respect this gentleman. I was just out of college and he had been an engineer for 25 years. He taught me a heck of a lot. I still can't stand vegemite.

There are fates worse than death.

You mean, like sitting through an entire performance of anything by Wagner? Or watching any movie with Kevin Costner in it?

Potent is a word best used to describe alchol . . . not food. I hope never to have 'potent' food.

Spicy food is good!

The consequences are usually not.

I don't have any bad consequences like some claim. Maybe it's the Martian digestive system.
