I seldom go to the cinema...the cost is prohibitive here in the UK. It's almost like because numbers are dwindling, they ramp up the price to get more from the fewer people going...so instead of trying to entice people back, they seem to be trying to price out the people that still go.

£35 ($55) for a family of 4 for less than 2 hours entertainment is a bit much for something that could be hit but more than likely will be miss.

I may get this on rental though. I did only hear one persons take on it. I think the main reason I was put off it was I recently read a book (or part of) about a bomb disposal expert in Iraq and the book sucked BIG time (my opinion only), though I do not doubt the bravery of these people one bit. I didn't complete the book and it kind of put me off the subject with regard to entertainment (what a weird thought - bomb disposal as entertainment!).

I've seen the movie and I thought they were civilian mercenaries, not SAS.

Cheers

They were civilian mercenaries, not SAS.I thought they were SAS at first as well. But i know what you mean,USA always portrayed in films "saving" the "incompetant" British units, when reality is we beat them in wargames and live fire exercises everytime.

I wouldn't go as far as to say that, bairdlander. I just wasn't willing to watch the SAS get bailed out by em....but seeing as that is not the case, maybe I'll give it a watch.

That actually sounds a little on the cheap side for four people now-a-days. You're right though. If you get drinks and popcorn, you can expect to pay 75 bucks for four people. It's insane.

Ah here in Oz I think the popcorn, drinks, lollies and ice creams cost more than the picture show. What I do here is go on 1/2 price Tuesday, which is really about two thirds of the the normal cost, with a family of four its reasonable. Eat the junk at home

It was an entertaining movie, but very hollywood. A little too hollywood for my tastes.

I was also under the mistaken impression that the incidenct where the US team finds itself fighting with the presumed British team was with the SAS, but I don't recall it ever being explicitly stated so. I was a little suprised that they portrayed them so poorly. They were not just unlucky, but portrayed as a little bit amatuerish. I suppose it's right that they were civilians, (bounty hunters essentially).

Well I have seen the movie and am having trouble trying to figure out what all the hype was about.  At best it was better than the movie "Jar Heads" but IMHO is not worth the touted Oscars that it will win.

The Brits were simply a bunch of bounty hunters....
