Yes, you can change your empire name to anything you like, either when setting up the game, or during game-play.

The built in editor allows you to change things on the fly. During a game in play. You should see some of the names I have given...

Distant Worlds is published by us and will be available in our Online Store, which provides both digital downloads and physical copies worldwide. Shipments to Canada are sent from our warehouse in Minnesota. I would recommend getting the "digital+physical" option if possible as it gives you a nice hard copy and the immediate download to play with until it arrives.

BTW what will the manual looks like ? A big 120+pages thing (even if only electronic) as usual for Matrix ? I've been disappointed with the no-manual only option for FoG lately ...

I don't know what the manual will be like for DW (hefty, I hope), but the FoG manual blame falls squarely on Sliterine's shoulders.

Many Matrix titles still come with huge manuals, if only in .pdf format.

I realize I'm being stupid for even asking this, but:

For those of us who live right in Minneapolis, I don't suppose we could just drive over to the warehouse and pick up our copy, could we (once our order is placed)? I'm about 20 minutes away from their location....

EDIT: I mainly ask because my copy of Armada 2526 took almost a week to reach me, which seems absurd given how close I live to the warehouse.
