Leo, Steve, thank you .
Just had a phone call from my wife: the exams made with radioactive iodine seems to tells that there is NOTHING left of cancerous part .
So basically, it's like in WITP for the allies: just have to wait for better time to come .
Thanks once more to all you pals that gave words.

So except for taking synthroid or levinthroid on a daily basis (which I've had to do since my own "radioactive cocktail" in 1976) she will be absolutely normal! That's terrific news! Congratulations!

Please don't call me Sir . It always make me feel like you're talking to someone else .
And thank you man !
If things go like "usual" (yes, my wife had already experienced this 2 time, in 2001 and 2002, now it's third time), she should feel more healthy in a couple of months, and back to "normal" around mid-summer.
So, yes, things will go better (was thinking of offering myself a beer just to rejoice ).
And sorry to bring topic on me and my wife.....

I 131 for you? That's the isotope used most commonly in the veterinary world for thyroid carcinoma treatment-particularly common in cats.

Sorry , I honestly can't recall what iodine isotope they gave me (if indeed they ever told me). At that time the treatment was considered "experimental". The usual treatment then was surgery, completely removing the thyroid . As I wanted very much to join the Navy , we opted for this treatment as there was a good chance of becoming "normal", needing no synthroid or other medication. Unfortunately the dosage was a little too strong and I became "Hypo-thyriod", vice "hyper" (as I was previously). And I got into the Navy due to a doctors error, then I spent the next seven years trying to get a waiver for flight. Except for that problem , (and a propensity to weight problems and susceptability to cold) I've been perfectly healthy ever since.
