Oddly, I never got into the BoB series. I've seen a few episodes and found them well done. Someday I'll stick them in my Netflix queue and have a go at the series.

Same here. They look good, and I'm sure I'll enjoy them one day.

Really? Wow, you missed a good one, Mynok. Did you read the book?

You owe it to yourself to check these out. Episodes 2 and 5 particularly. The latter ("Crossroads") is a veritable treatise on small unit tactical leadership in the field. You should see the others in order for that one to make sense.

Did not read the book. In fact, I'm not sure I was aware there was one. If so, I'll probably check that one out from the library first.

It seems to me that some pretty young thing has come along and turned our Danish brother's mind to pudding.

Never watched BoB, saw the boxed set on sale at Blockbuster for £10 but knew I'd never watch it. Never read the book either, not a big fan of Ambrose, prefer Middlebrook's books for the close-up personal recollections.

For WW1 read Lynn MacDonald's books.

The Thread is getting seriously weird! Paz is becoming sensible and calling for reason, Mynok is become "a nice guy" , Yuri , the quintessential Southern Californian is glorying in snow shoveling, and Terminus is becoming reluctant to spam and when he does , he babbles about Pudding! WTF PEOPLE!!???!!!

What next, Gladditt and USS American becoming nasty, mean codgers? Dixie hating to draw pretty pictures and becoming anti-border collie? Sprior dumping cricket and embracing NASCAR!  Let me know when it's safe to come back! Is this some kind of weird inverse Saddie Hawkins day , or one of those crazy "rush" weeks when everyone wears clothes backwards and does weird things?   Good grief......I need a drink. Several in fact!

Hey don't look at me. I had nothing to do with it. I've been sick. That's my story and I am stickin' to it.

I shudder thinking about what this might turn into.

----Camera pans in on forested shore----

Voice over: The New World. Possibly risen from the ashes of Atlantis was a new continent. A place where Europe would soon found a new country (crescendo of music) AMERICA!

----Fade out to commercial about History channel UFO series---

Actually the preview looked very good. On the same caliber of WW2 in HD.
