In scenario #17 I have the 8th US Bomber Squadron with both the A-24 Dauntless and the A-20 Havoc. The A-24 is listed as 8th BS with 16 planes and 18 Pilots. The A-20 is listed as 4/8BS with 7 planes and 2 Pilots.

Probably your A-24 sqdn should have been upgraded to A-20 but your squdn must be split with only a part in the Brisbane/Noumea range ... and so only this part of the squdn had been upgraded.

Try to bring the other A-24s closer to Brisbane/Noumea ... and see if it is then upgraded to A-20.

The same thing happened to one of my fighter squadrons in a scenario I played some days ago.
The problem got even worse when the upgrade of the complete squad had finished. The smaller subgroup had received a full replacement of 24 fighters, and then both groups merged. The result was a *big* squad with 48 fighters, 24 of them being in reserve.
With that experience in mind I would suggest to withdraw or disband the small subgroup before it gets upgraded.

I sent both the A-24 and A-20's to Brisbane and also sent the other A-20 squadron. I waited a couple of turns then disbanded the A-20 from the 8th. The planes went to the other A-20 squadron and everything is working OK.

I had moved the A-24 to Port Moresby, but 2 planes were left behind as damaged. Then the next turn the A-20's started showing up. I thought the A-24 was being upgraded to A-20.

This was mid June 1942.
