Simon, I laughed when I read your post there. Sadly, I believe your sarcasm was completely lost on the original poster.

No, it's the whole "tell me how to do it, I can't be bothered to look" thing. There's a WHOLE thread devoted to that subject. And not even an acknowlegdement of thanks.

Well I certainly have to agree with you , there's absolutely no excuse for not showing gratitude. But it is amazing how obtuse some of us can be on instructions. I can barely turn on my computer without a "dummies guide" and WITP has no dummies guide. The people who designed this thing are extremely knowledgable. But they have a problem "dumbing down" their answers. Dixie can tell you the incredible hassle it was for him to help me install the sig banner that he so kindly made for me. And I wouldn't have an avatar without Mynok. And after all those folks did , I still would not have those if Yuri didn't noticed that I didn't have enough space in the code.

I currently have 4 Matrix games that pretty much set on the shelf. That's because only the WITP forum has folks that will help me out. And none of them are paid by Matrix, which makes their kindness and understanding even more exceptional.

I have to admit he's come close to getting the GB from me as well ...

I don't suppose Simon, that there is any way a person could show his appreciation for the help by sending a bottle of Highland Park, is there?

Sprior,
I have had a similar problem explaining that the sub-tube modifications that can be found by clicking on the link to that Osterhaut posted. Failed to get through at all for about two weeks and several threads and then get b*tched at for it.
Apparently my post-count is still too low.

By the way, you also provided a link, but it sounded like few actually used it.

Yes there is, and it would be appreciated in all senses of the word.

Well, I just received the 'official" phone call. I will be in Omaha Nebraska on 1 May , 2010.

Well, Steve, i feel sorry for you . ; keep the faith, old boy.

If you feel that bad, then why don't you and your spouse come out and visit us?

Steve,
I'll try to get ahold of you when I am out visiting family. Maybe we can have an AE forum at the SPAM factory. Mmmm, fresh SPAM!!!

You IT guys are brutal....have some sympathy.......if we were all as smart as you in this stuff, we wouldn't need you. And you'd be out of work.

It's one of those square states who's major purpose is to keep the other square states from bumping into each other!

It's geographically dead center in the middle of the USA. Which is why it was chosen to be headquarters for the Strategic Air Command (now absorbed by Strategic Command, the reason my spouse has orders there) during the cold war.

Of course in two years I'll probably be back in either Washington DC or Jacksonville Florida so you might want to put off your visit till then , unless you really like steak, corn and horses!

It's not one of our more charismatic states. The state motto is something like Corn fueled fury or Nebraska! Enjoy our flatness.

Good luck with that transfer Steve.

What will be really difficult for me is that it's a USAF base. The last two USAF bases that I was stationed at , Andrews AFB and Lajes AFB , well , lets just say that I remain incognito when I visit them! Some people just don't have any sense of humor. Then , there that time in 1979 when my whole flight crew got in trouble at Minot AFB . My squadron was permanetly banned after THAT airshow!

Hey, i like Steak and corn, and my spouse like horses. I mean, not for eating, you see

So what do you like steak and corn for then?

Well feeding to the horse , obviously!

Cool. And of course there will be airplanes. Lots and lots of airplanes. And beer.

Steak, beer, corn and airplanes? You know, Steve, I could be in Nebraska in about 8 hours drive...

We will have to do a middle of the US WITP AE Summit! Bar B Que style! How about August!

Why not? Why not indeed...

I don't suppose Simon, that there is any way a person could show his appreciation for the help by sending a bottle of Highland Park, is there?

Yes there is, and it would be appreciated in all senses of the word.

PM me with the details how (US Mail prohibts sending of alcohol, as you know from having lived here) and we'll see what we can do!

http://www.highlandpark.co.uk/shop/whisky.asp

btw, no need to thank me for this link
